Restore Extracted Isos Back Into An Abgx Verifiable Iso?
« on: January 24, 2010, 09:43:00 AM »

Hiya,

I'm just wondering if this is possible?

I've seen mention of being able to use old tools like qwix etc to recreate isos that can be burned to dvd5 etc......but obv only for use on jtagged consoles. So I'm just wonderring if its possibly to convert them back to a valid dvd iso image that could be be validated with the stealth corrections etc and then burned to an iso again that would work on any regular modded 360, should the jtagged box die for whatever reason in the future.

Obviously this is based on the expectation that you wouldnt have modified the files on the disc such as removing system updates and resizing videos etc...but to keep a direct backup

had a bit of a play with xdvdmulleter and a couple of apps.

Looks like there can't seem to be a way to get it to work sad.gif

I tried messing with a game, extracting to a temp folder - and then trying to recreate the files.

Best I could get, with xdvdmulleter anyway, was an iso file that looked like it could in theory work, but main problem seemed to be the fact that it had zero padding instead of random padding.

So only way forward I could potentially see is if theres some way or database of the 'padding' layout that could be used to reconstruct at a later date.

I'd so like to find a way to get these back to iso format if required....as the jtagged console is a first generation and may/will die at some point...and then dont want to have to go through whole process of making backups again from the original if theres no way in future to get any more jtaggable consoles

i think it doesnt work, cause you lose a lot of information (place of the files, maybe more) with the extraction.
