Question for you fellas,

Now that you can patch nxe dumped games not to require disc, is there a way to make our own packages?

is that what SVOD is? and what does SVOD stand for?

On the first post DJ says that SVOD is "An svod package is just an image split up and hashed, to add files or anything you have to have a class to parse the inside image."

but i was under the impression that nxe dumped games are just one package?

any1 care to clarify?

Thank you for your time

Means this:
I can make an SVOD package of a jpg but that's the only file it will contain
SVOD packages are just one file split up into multiple files and hashed
the one file that games are built wif are GDF images (game ISO's)
It uses GDF functions to then read the contents of that, which is a different filesystem than SVOD

Excellent work dude, my personal opinion

Any chance of a linux port?

I don't have to worry about Microsoft discovering my pirated OS as mine is genuinely free (like your app).

The scene seems to be missing linux support to a certain degree, I managed to write some scripts that patched xex files using xextool and wine (prior to xbr_3 being released) but would love some kind of fatx explorer working from within linux, if I had any amount of programming knowledge then I'd have a bash myself, being a designer though I have little time to learn.

Keep up the good work either way dude, in a year's time your name will be right up there with the rest of the people who made all of this possible!

To install games to the HDD using le fluffie and Dstruktiv's guide you dont need to copy the Data0000 files from the 360 to PC for it to work, just create a folder with lots of blank .txt files renamed to Data0000 Data0001 etc and so on.Here's a pack numbered Data0000 to Data0050 http://www.sendspace.com/file/3klgf7 Just add more if need be.This will do till Dstruktiv's app is released.

Two quick questions:
1) Is it possible to convert data using XexLoader to this format
2) Is it possible to copy the data folder once ripped with NXE to a USB device and use this method from USB when the USB drive is present?

Thanks, and sorry for the potentially dumb questions.

Rip game using NXE. Browse your Xbox HDD and find that game, it will be under Content\000000000000000\titleideofcippedgame\00004000\

First you want to rename the 00004000 to 00007000

Then you want to copy just the small pirs container to your pc (Should be abut 40kb) do not copy the .data folder that isn't needed.

Open Le FLuffie then point it the pirs container you copied to your pc, when it asks for a data directory just point it to a temp dir or whatever.

In the drop down box select GameOnDemand then click fix package (Do not tick hash).

Now copy the file back to your xbox replacing the old one.

Game will be in NXE under Xbox 360 Games, will have the achieve list, and won't ask for disc.

This worked apart from having to point Le Fluffie towards the temp file folder apcarr provided, cheers btw! Also ticking Dev Live like dstruktiv said.  1st time I've used the app and prefer it way more than XEXLoader copy DVD then Quickboot route...THANK YOU!!

I do have one other question: are the rip directory sizes the same via NXE and XEXLoader? Meaning do the games take up the same space via either method.

I think I read somewhere in the past that after one of the NXE updates installed games via normal route got smaller!  It would be interesting to know if this was diff compared to XEXLoader

There were bigger because the xbox was also adding some of the garbage padding data that was on the disc by mistake which resulted in wasted space.  Now that it is fixed it takes up the proper size of the game.

Are you using version 1.0.0.12?  There was a fix package error in the earlier version.

It should work, I have not tried it yet.  Keep in mind that it will copy the garbage data too unless you remake the ISO to only contain the game files.
