Has anyone read the info at all? this tool does not check if you are banned on the server side, it only checks if your Xbox know if it's banned.

The only way to get the banned status is if your Xbox has connected to Live and received the information from the server saying it's banned, then it will change the X value and this tool can tell from that. If your console know it's banned then you have already lost hard drive installation and the Xbox will corrupt your saves.

If this tool says your clean, you can still already have been banned on the server side, just as the news info says. The next time you try to connect to Live, your Xbox will know and write to your NAND and thus change the X value.

In other words: This tool is useless for what you all guys want to do, ckeck if you are banned without letting the Xbox know. The only way to make that happen is to write protect your NAND and that's described in a reset news post.

I'll try and test it when I go home tonight but can anyone confirm if this app will tell you if the key on your DVD drive does not match the DVD key stored in the NAND?

It's been stated before this is best for purchasing an XBox from somebody whether it be from eBay, Craigslist or anything equivalent. If they give you the serial number an X-Value you can check to see if the XBox has been banned.

The Xbox.com thing is a myth i bought a brand new never opened Xbox elite never modded or played and got the 54402 error code the site is always having problems and has millions of people trying it..

Is it possible to use this program or create a new one that would calculate a good x value that could be written to the nand if you know you are banned. Or is there more locations on the nand that determine that a xbox is banned.

Make sure the serial number on your case matchs the serial number on dashboard.  People are doing gut swap and you could have banned 360.
Now if you are still playing on LIVE and you haven't modded your 360 and you get code, did you do anything with modded hard drive or any other hack?  Get honest.
Now if you really get banned and you did nothing wrong, start a class action against MS, I'm hoping virgin 360's get banned for doing nothing wrong , so MS will have to unban.
Don't call MS call a lawyer or MS might unban you and it screws all the rest of us.

yeah it onlys supposed to do that if there something being downloaded thou, which means i would have to be connected to live, but my ethernet cable was unplugged. and even when it does download something from live when in background download its never spun the disc

be careful, since this program does not check the Internet if we are blacklisted or something, only reports the current state of the console.

I trust and after seeing that was like "Secdata is Clean" i connected today to play this weekend live free, and was immediately banned.

I explicitly made it a point that is was not a reflection of your online banned status.  The only use I purposed for the tool was to aid in decision making when buying a second-hand console.  There are plenty of  security concerns that are not reflected in the X value that can and will get you banned. The X value is only part of a bigger system.

* I can't register RROD-repair
* I got "data clean" on this tool
* I am not banned yet, maybe flagged

Am I to understand that I can make a backup of the x360's NAND, and try to connect to Live? If it won't work, I can just reflash it with my unbanned-but-maybe-flagged NAND, and it will "reset" ?

Or am I totally missing the point here?


EDIT: Okay, read some more.. Am I to understand that I will need a unique key from another xbox in order to make mine "okay" again? Damnit, need to find a magic keygen then.. ^^

what they are trying to say using this tool is that the "X value" might be an aid to microsoft for bannings because it says if something is different in your console. But yes you are correct if this says you are clean dont assume that you are good to go.

I had two consoles both with 1.61 playing two weeks ago. i was playing MW2 on both of them. One was banned pretty quickly. The other one I stopped playing for 2 weeks while i was at school. checked the xbox site and everything looks fine there yesterday. i flashed it to 1.41 non-stealth and have been playing MW2 fine for the last two days on live. This program says my sec data is clean. I wonder if I got lucky on the unbanned console or if i will banned in the next couple of days.

If a bad rip was played offline, would you expect that to show up in secdata with this tool?
