Eather you need to have the ban flag removed from your xbox via changing it in the nand.
Or set tversty to transcode to WMV.

WMV doesnt need a codec on the xbox.

Are you trying to use the media center app for streaming, or are you using the video folder off the media blade?

After messing around with the settings, i got tversity up and running, but even with the lowest settings i can watch a film for around 10mins before it bottlenecks, stops and have to wait around 2mins for it load up the next bit.

so i'm guessing my pc cant keep up with on the fly encoding & streaming - hence the freezes.

So i need convert before i stream, just tried Videora Xbox 360 Converter doesn't seem to work properly, anyone else got any other converters?

got tversity working better now - lowest crap settings lol show below if anyone needs it.

on the library tab at the top (in tversity) double click your video folder and click advanced, then for transcode pick always and click update.
this will fix the need media update crap message.

if your using wifi g router / adapters you might get playback problems, freezing for a few mins while it transcodes and streams over another 10mins worth of film.
I had to use lowest tversity settings going to get it work. show below:-

settings tab at the top and then transcode icon on the left settings;-

when to transcode - when needed
max video resolution - 1920 x 1080 (for full hd tv) - doesnt upscale with my min settings thou.
use directshow for windows media encoding - yes (ticked)
windows media video 7
optimize - speed
connection speed - g 54mbps
connection quality - low
compression - average

using higher settings caused playback issues (freezes bottlenecks) your router might have better results as for me i think i need upgrade my wireless network to wireless N for better quality.

p.s. other things that might help, using a direct connection using ethernet to your router stops all the freezing bottleneck problems.
Also i disable as many network services i'm not using anymore, i.e. vlan server (when trying other stream software) and also disable windows media player from sharing any media.

hi, i've just been banned from xbl, which i wasn't to bothered about, but now i can't view my film collection (stream from pc) it keeps saying error media update required (need connection to xbl).

I've just tried tversity 3rd party app, and messed with the settings for streaming but i keep getting the same error back.

does anyone know what formats are accepted without this media update, and also any streaming software that supports streaming this on the fly?

thanks for the help. pop.gif
