Portio32 Help
« on: October 31, 2009, 11:42:00 AM »

I have been trying to install PortIO32 on my windows 7 but i just cant seem to get it to install. Heres step by step what i have done.

1: Download Jungle Flasher 1.67
2: Extract the folder to the desktop (this has the PortIO32 .dll and .sys)
3: ran hdwwiz
4: selected option [install hardware i select from list]
5: selected PortIO32.dll from Jungleflasher folder on desktop
6: clicked install

Each time i do this it says PortIO32 is in use and cannot install. I do not see how this is possible as i haven't installed PortIO32 before so it cant be in use and i closed the Archive i extracted it from.

I also Have gone through the Computer Management selected Device manager right clicked on my computer name and selected 'add legacy hardware'.

I also turned off my firewall settings and it still says it is in use and can not install.

The only thing i haven't tried because i haven't seen anywhere that has stated to do this which is move the PortIO32.dll into the system32 folder then run it.

well in that case i guess that's what i have been selecting not the .dll because it wont let me select anything else. So no that didn't fix the problem.

I have found the problem. Though i disabled windows firewall AVG still wasnt disabled. I over Looked AVG because when i opened control center it didnt have any option about a firewall so i just left it alone. Today though i closed AVG using Task manager and it seemed to solve the problem.
