Try using another SATA port.

Also, my 20gb hdd crapped out on me but I managed to get the ss.bin from it and flashed it on a 160gb hdd. Havent been banned.

I'm guessing you mean 120GB.

"Also, my 20gb hdd crapped out on me but I managed to get the ss.bin from it and flashed it on a 160gb hdd."

ss.bin from 20GB flashed to a 160GB would mean he has a 20GB drive.

I thought it was a typo & he meant ss.bin from 120GB flashed to a 160GB.
That would make sense.

Anyway, hopefully someone will dump the 250GB soon - having a 120GBHDD with 13GB of usable space is killing me  mellow.gif

My bad k1ller.

I'm seriously tempted to buy a 250gb hdd off fleabay, but I know as soon as I do, the .bin will surface on the net.

You should try having an original 20gig that has around 13gigs of usable space with nothing on it wink.gif

Ive been holding off hacking a drive for a year now, I think now is the time to hack a 250gig though as I don’t think Microsoft are going to released a bigger drive for a long while now.

Tried both onboard SATA and my VIA VT6421A SATA RAID PCI Controller Card. Same issue. Will try 0.91 and see if I get any luck.

If there is a difference, it probably won't be hugely noticable. The 360 only has a SATA 150 interface, and you'd need SATA 300 to take advantage of 7200 drives. But it is useful for backing up to a pc, as it's a fair bit quicker.

What are you smoking? Aside from multi-drive RAID 0 setups and some SSD's, no standard HDD can sustain high enough transfers to saturate SATA 1. SATA 1 can hit ~150 MB/s sustained transfer!
