Why does everyone think that because its it sata 1.5 that these drives can actually FILL all that bandwidth?  A single Sata 3.0 drive doesnt even fill 150mb/s which is what sata 1.5 is supposed to be.  I have 2 samsung F1 1tb hdds hooked up in raid0 to my raid card that has 512mb of ram, and when i transfer stuff to or from that array it gets up to about 180mb/s but only until all the ram on that card gets filled up, then it drops down to a steady 80-90mb/s.  I'll go run a quick benchmark since i still have my ms 120gb in another case so i can just swap them out, i'll install the same game to both hard drives and see how long it takes

Please let us know!

Because I thinking about getting the fastest one.

For those who asked earlier in this thread I can confirm that a WD3200BEVT Scorpio Blue does indeed work without issues.

I copied my partitions data from my 120GB drive using Xplorer360_09b6_120GB to the desktop of my PC, then used Xplorer360_250GB_Edition to copy my data from PC to newly created 250GB drive.

Haven't done a bunch with it yet but copy some games to HDD but 1 thing I came across so far was loading my saved game of Smackdown Vs. Raw 2010 failed. So I moved it from HDD to internal 256MB memory then back to HDD fixed it. Just a heads up because there is no telling how many games will require this same kind of fix.

(i have my saves on a memory card)
i want to do a clean install do i need to backup my partitions?

just thinking, since the first 0x160 bytes have the drive serial # it is possible to edit those bytes and  put a made up serial that way it wont be the same as the others with the same ss.bin have ?

noob question
but with a 360 without hard disk, can I install "in some way" a western digital hard disk? or is it always necessary an original hard disk?

You need a casing or a cable. You can order the casing alone at for example http://www.dealextre...ls.dx/sku.25939

if you prepare a HDD with this method you can still use the MS Data Migration Kit and software to transfer the data to the new one ??

Hello all,

Im pretty desperate since my xbox 360 doenst read my original 120gb drive anymore (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)
I tried allmost everything i can think off. Tried reformatting on the xbox360 (impossible since the xbox wont read it anymore) Tried to flash it with hddhackr (impossible to since it is the official fujitsu hdd).

When i try to read the hard-drive with xplorer360 extreme, it says it cant find a FATX drive, so that means that my hard-drive doesnt have a fatx partition anymore.

//edit: for some reason my windows created a partition on the hard-drive itself, that's why i formatted the hard-drive in windows....

Is there any way to reformat my hdd and get it back to FATX?
or is there any way to "mod" hddhackr and flash my drive with the original hddss.bin from my fujitsu hdd?

Greetings,
ReFlamE

Flashing a stock HDD and formatting it with windows has probably killed it. The only thing I can think of (providing it has the original FW flashed to it) is to delete the partition so that the drive is blank (unallocated, as it was when you took it out of the bag) and try hddhackr (don't forget to have the appropriate size hddss.bin in there too) from a usb boot disk. Type 'hddhackr' at the command prompt and hope it shows your drive in the list of devices.

The flashing process needs to be done TWICE. The first time flashes sector 16-22 and the drive will then disconnect. Reboot and flash again. Hddhackr will then partition the drive ready to be formatted by the 360 (for which you need the CONSOLE serial number (can be found in system info on the console settings).

As for having the Explorer360 error "cant find a FATX drive", unplug any/all USB pen/hdd drives and reboot, connecting the 360 HDD drive by SATA AFTER windows starts.

I did not have to flash the drive twice and works fine with the 250gb drive.

Thnx for the application. I installed a WD Scorpio Black WD1600BJKT 160 GB this weekend as 120GB in my Xbox, everything works perfectly (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Except Forza 3 save games don't work anymore, I did read that this was also the case with Forza 2. I'm looking to borrow a memory unit now from someone for the save game transfer.
