JungleFlasher tutorial, and several notations online say that's not always the case. Some are, some aren't. I'm trying to determine which I have.

How can I be certain? It could be the way i'm trying to flash is wrong.

Yes there will be new versions of both the USB and CD based versions, but not until the Lite-On 1.61 firmware is released.

Right now only Samsung and BenQ drives are supported under iXtreme v1.61.

hi

if i downloaded this, can i replace ix1.6 with ix1.61 and it still work?

I need to try because

am having issues with JF and my SIL3112 sata pc. it can see my samsung (spoofed as lite-on) but the unlock dvd doesnt seem to put it in vendor mode

my SIL 3114 pc with windows xp hangs every time i plug in the dvd drive and

my Gigabyte MA78GM-S2H based pc now has win 7 64bit so cant use JF on this.

have successfully flashed multiple times before but no idea why am struggling now.

i am banned from live anyway so ideally would like to go back to xtreme 5.2 so as not to need to worry about wave 5 etc however not sure if that would work still.

If you replace the FILES\SAMSUNG\FIRMWARE\IXTREME.BIN file with ix161-samsung.bin (renamed to IXTREME.BIN) it will work just fine.

NOTE: You could also use the Xtreme 5.2 (Samsung) firmware too if you like.

Frosty, I just want to let you know that this is my favorite flashing tool. I hope you're still planning a new release supporting the new 1.61 for LiteOn (and the new nonstealth version also) - this tool is so easy to use and understand. Regardless, thanks for the tool so far.

Not completely sure, but no - I don't think you need the extractor if you're already running iXtreme. I believe the key kan be extracted from your flashed drive easily by the program you use to flash.

Yes. Just change the name from the Non-Stealth firmware (e.g. ix16-benq_nostealth.bin or whatever drive you have) to IXTREME.bin, and replace the firmware found here: FILES\BENQ\FIRMWARE\IXTREME.BIN on the thumb drive.

I have done this and it worked great till I got RROD for the 5th time

Frosty i was wondering if we will see any more revisions from you now that the new LT firmware is out, and if so will you be adding the two new liteon drive too it for more advanced users that can do the extra soldering and trace cutting. I have always liked your simple methods and hope to see more in the future.

hi frosty I take it the same method quoted earlier in this thread will work fine now for a LITEON 74 to reflash from 1.6 to 1.61 ?
