Move Files From Original 20gb To Original 120gb Hdd
« on: August 12, 2009, 06:24:00 AM »

I have got recently a transfer kit but without the software to do it automatically from the XBOX 360.

So my other options are either obtain the DVD that includes the software from MS (an ISO maybe) or do it thru the XPLORER 360.

In case somebody has the ISO and works on an unmodified console, that would be great! But I doubt it...

So I am looking for a safe tutorial to do it thru the XPLORER 360. Any ideas where I can find one?

Thanx

Note: Both Hard Drives are MS made originals and never opened. The 120GB one is from a brand new Elite box.

well from what i can tell just backup the image / partition 2 of the 20 and then restore it onto the 120gb?  will that work? i have never done it that way as a whole, only in parts (like partition 3/2/1 from hdd A to hdd (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cool.gif)

I'm sure that's what I did, I can't remember exactly as it was over a year ago I did mine, but its not too hard, just copy everything from the 20GB over to the 120GB and you should be fine.

Yeah I think I should do that but it wont overwrite the system files and make my 120GB to look like 20GB? that is my concern.

You won't do that, to do that you'd have to use HddHackr and flash a 20GB firmware onto your 120GB, which is a lot more work, and impossible just using xplorer360 or xport360. I used xplorer360, but found about xport360 the other day, it looks alot easier to use. Just extract the whole of partition 3 from the 20gb and place it onto the 120gb.

Like millerboy said, it does take a while so i'd recommend deleting anything like games installed to the HDD.

I am little confused. You said to copy the Partition 3 but millerboy said teh Partition 2. Should I copy all the three partitions to be sure?

I am unsure as well? Which partition do I copy? All 3? Or just 2+3?

 Anyone?

Partition 3 is all the profiles and saves. I have a transfer kit disc laying around somewhere when i find it I'm gonna burn it and see if it will play in an unmodded 360.
