Anyone Used Hddhacker V1.00 On A Bevt
« on: June 18, 2009, 02:54:00 AM »

Hi all,

I bought a WD1200 BEVS the other days and annoyingly what has turned up is a WD1600 BEVT.

After shouting at the place I bought it from over the phone the guy told me that the BEVS range has been discontinued and that there isn't any stock of those left in the UK and that the manufacture is now sending out the 1600BEVT (as they feel there is no differences between them).

Well apart from the 20 GB's!  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Anyway I was miffed but looking at the latest HDDHacker (v1.00) it would seem it might support the BEVT now so I was wondering if anyone has tried it out on a BEVT yet and had any success?

I am planning on giving it a go (using a 120GB HDDSS file) and then trying to Xplorer360 extreme2 to get my files across.

Any help / pointers / info / experiences would be be appreciated before I give it a go.

The same exact thing happened to me. I ordered a BEVS drive and received a BEVT drive. But I try it with v.91 and it worked fine for me. I had no problems at all.

Also people don't really know but just about all the version of WD Scorpio model type drives have been confirmed working on old v.91 software and then the specialist just came with v1.0 that made it seem like its a brand new version that now it can make all these other drives work but thats not the case.
