So.. Is it right that original x360 hdd is needed for this mod?

Actually you dont need the original hard disk but need only the connector for this upgrade. Third party sata connector not ready yet. I think its on testing phase.

But again if u dont have the original HDSS.bin from your hard drive then you have to borrow it from some one else and thats illigal.

You could have the drive in a fanned enclosure or something which would solve the heating issues. And this would be useful for loading games real fast but yeah, not really worth it.

why is it not worth it ?  loading games faster is worth it for me if i can shave a few seconds off loading times on every round of call of duty its gonna save me hours of waitng for loading a week well worth it

has anyone actually got a VelociRaptor to work on there 360 ? ive read on here somewhere about someone flashing one in march i think it was but theres no info on if it worked ?

can anyone help ? i would be willing to buy a new drive to show everyone how fast it loads

Actually, it's unclear whether or not a digitally-signed collection of facts is even copyrightable.

Whereas firmware for a hard drive is clearly copyrighted.

Go figure.

Loading faster is a moot point for multiplayer because you still have to wait for everyone else to sync up.

Ugh. Copywrited? I think you mean copyrighted. It's about rights, not writes. Oh well, at least you didn't say copywritten!  biggrin.gif

Do the 7200rpm drives work without modifying the Xbox?

I believe that these work without modifying anything because they don't need as much power as the VelociRaptors

so, that means you need extra power only if you're gonna use 10000rpm HDDs

also, these drives are thicker than the standard 2.5 form factor

so they won't fit into the HDD enclosure...even if you managed ( somehow) to fit one inside it it'll run really HOT!

yeah i know you have to wait for other players but id rather be ready to play faster than anyone else
and it must load things faster for things like when you respawn and stuff like that, and must help with the performance of games, also i always copy my games onto the hdd to play so if it can speed that up by a few mins im in, because at the moment it takes about 7-8 mins i guess ? maybe? maybe more so cutting that down would make me a lot happier  biggrin.gif

I have a question. How is the hdd capacity limited in the xbox. What I mean is if I was able to rewrite the serial number of a 320GB using the number from an xbox 120gb hdd would xbox see it as 120GB or 320.  I know that isnt possible using Hddhackr. Im just speaking hypothetically here.

And you have done an amazing job with this program. TS. Its a shame that you had to do  this at all. Its not like Microsoft doesnt make enough money monopolizing everything they can.
