Yes max size it will work on the xbox for is 120gb. People have gotten 160gb hdds to work but they still only read like a 120gb.

You need the orignal hdd to read the hddss.bin for 120gb. But if you search google you will be able to find it.
So you dont need to extract your on. Its against rules to post links to them.

Using your own hdd still unsafe for XBL? or no one really knows? if not, whats the best 120gb to buy?

currently there is no evidence saying it is UNSAFE and there havent been any bannings from it that we know of. best 120gb to buy is a western digital bevs 120gb 2.5 HDD.

WD2500BEVT =  Scorpio Blue, and yes it is compatible with HDDHackr.

Latest version is 1.22 Build 20091, see here:
http://www.xbox-scen...ls/HDDHackr.php and here http://forums.xbox-s...o...4373&st=135.

CODE

Western Digital Vendor Intro failed on port 0x3050 (Yes this is my hdd ata port)
Make sure you have connected Western Digital Scorpio series Hard Drive.
If you choose to resend the command you should turn the drive off and on after you pressed yes.

The thing is that my hdd is correctly connected i know that is fully functional and i dont know what to do, i tried on diferent ata ports and still get the same, some one can help me?

Note: I tried with the v0.9 and v0.9b and it doesnt recognize the ata drive only my IDE

My pc is Emachines T5048

I need some help, when i boot to DOS, HDDhackr dosent recognize my SATA Drives, but what is even weirder, it only Recognizes my ATA(IDE) Drives, I have an ALi M5229 Controller for My SATA Drives.
Also, with this, will i get Banned From Xbox Live?

I've read the entire post, and the consensus is NO, no one has confirmed a banning based solely on an "upgraded" HDD.

Anyone else agree? I have yet to do this myself for the same concern.

Sorry to revive an old topic.

Hey guys, I'm sure the question has been 100times, but I'm wanting to get an HDD and flash it myself and such, because I'm not spending the money MS wants me to spend on their crap.

Anyway, I've seen reports that you can do a 120gb harddrive, but what about a 250gb? Because I ordered one of the ones that was recommended.(one of the western digital ones).

Anyway, I'm slightly confused on how do to it. On the readme file there doesn't seem to be any instructions, and on the xbox-scene pay, I dont really see any either, or maybe its just I don't understand.

Is anyone able to help me out in some way? LIke the stuff I'll need when I get my harddrive in the mail, or am I good to go aside from taking the HDD in the xbox.

I'm new to all this stuff, though my cousin is going to help me, since he's more knowledgeable with this kind of thing than I am.

Maybe actual instructions or something.

Thanks guys.
