you need to check the VIA ports only box in the DVDkey32 tab, that will open PortIO as an option for you.

I have checked VIA ports only in DVDkey32 tab and this doesn't open 'Port IO' in de Hitachi tab. Still gray.
v155 still works fine. I'm using XP Pro x86.

I do not have VIA drivers installed, only the driver included with JF.

does Jungle Flasher work at all  in with a 64 bit OS ?

my understanding is that the program will technically run in a 64 bit os, but it can't do anything useful in that environment since portio won't work on a 64 bit os.

i may be mistaken though.

No idea, perhaps someone on this thread can help?  biggrin.gif

That's the source where the lamer took files, renamed them and cut off some unusefull stuff from the .inf
What a great effort!!
Well..... nothing special compared to the 50 thousand bullshit dollars for a bottle of acid and a magnifying glass!!

Geremia,

First, the author of 'jungleflasher' is no longer a part of team jungle. I've asked him to rename his application to which he has refused. Im considering making a inquiry to change the name of the group so that T jungle can disassociate itself from JungleFlasher.

Secondly, if you think acid and a magnifying glass is all it took to accomplish the work done for the liteon, you are sadly mistaken. I will ask that you keep any personal drama off these forums, and instead address them in the most fashionable manner - Personally.

I apologize that the author has not given you full credit for the work you have done, but I do recall a very similar situation in which you decided to publish a hack that included the work of several others without asking their permission or (at the time) giving them credit.

So while I understand your frustration, I do not grieve overtly so for you.

It is my wish that this settles this issue. This thread is for JungleFlasher, and help in regards to it.

I can't select(it's gray) 'USE Port IO' for using my VIA VT6421 to flash/read a Hitachi drive.
More people with this problem?
On previous releases(v151 & v155) this worked fine for me, but with the new release this doesn't work anymore.
The only option that is available and already selected is 'USE Win API', so i can't flash with this new JF release.
Luckfully the v155 works fine!  smile.gif

Grtz,

KuiPo

Problem solved:

I installed the VT 6421 driver => Disabled the driver => Removed 'viamraid.sys' from C :\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\ (also removed the install map from for the VIA driver) => Enabled driver => Reboot => Done!

My VIA VT6421 was shown as an 'Unknows Device'. I downloaded the drivers and extracted to c:\via
After i installed the driver correctly, the VIA was shown under 'SCSI and RAID Controllers', so not anymore under 'Unknown Device'.
Then i disabled de driver and removed the map c:\via AND the file C :\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\viamraid.sys
Now enable the driver and the VIA is not shown under 'Unknown Device', but under 'SCSI and RAID Controllers'.
See: http://i40.tinypic.com/2eplbuf.jpg
I think you have to reboot, then start JF v159 and go to tab 'DVDKey 32' and check 'Via ports Only'.
Go to the Hitachi tab and you enabled the option 'Use PORT IO'.

This worked fine for me, so i hope i helped you.

Iriez, i don't want anything, just give the author a lesson about copy and paste.
I can't recall i did something similar

jungleusb.inf
CODE

; Common Sections
;
[USBSTOR.AddService]
DisplayName    = %USBSTOR360.SvcDesc%
ServiceType    = 1
StartType      = 3
ErrorControl   = 1
ServiceBinary  = %12%\JungleUSB.SYS

here is the read me from the download

JungleUSB drivers --

Drivers have been modified to send 360 inquiry string rather than standard windows string.
This allows for a mode-A hitachi drive to show in windows.. JungleFlasher can then USmodeB
the drive, sending the hitachi Vendor command E7 48 49 54 30 30 90 90 D0 01 via the windows
Api using the drive letter to initate Mode-B... this will save 2 reboots needed for Slax.

to Install drivers on Windows Xp 32bit ( Vista to follow )

1. Attach the USB-2-Sata device with the drive connected, first time out Windows will install
   the native drive USBStor.sys, this needs to replaced. For this to happen you will need to
   use a regular windows drive or a Hitachi already in mode-b or another 360 drive with ix1.5
   or greater in half tray mode.

2. browse to the dvd drive in the drive manager

+---USB Root Hub
  +---USB Mass Storage Device
    +---HL-DT-ST DVD-ROM GDR3120L USB Device

3. right click [USB Mass Storage Device] and select [Update Driver] from the context menu

4. Select No, click next

5. Select Advanced, click next,

6. Select Don't Search, click next

7. Click [Have Disk], browse and select JungleUSB.inf from the download.

8. Click OPen, click OK

9. back at the main window, click Next

10. click [Continue Anyway]...

11. Click finish..

the device tree should now look like this

+---USB Root Hub
  +---JungleUSB 360 Mass Storage Device
    +---HL-DT-ST DVD-ROM GDR3120L USB Device

Mode A 360 drive will now show... If your system locks up on connection, open and close
tray as with Slax...

  Many thanks the Geremia for the original Hack...

i mean you were givin credit what more do u want

this has turned into a bitchin tread vs a help tread or a good job tread

Yes. I had saw the readme before it was made public, and that part had not been written yet. After I was informed that Geremia DID infact recieve credit, im having a difficult time understanding why he's even trying to make a issue.

So, if its not credit, if it REALLY IS just a 'copy paste lesson' ...then I might ask geremia where he originally got his work from? It was not from scratch. It was a hack on the microsoft drivers anyways....

Thats the funny part. You steal work from MS or another vendor(to which you did not give credit in the first place), then another person makes changes to your work, even gives you credit, and you want to cry about it? Give me a effing break. This is beyond ridiculous.

Amen it appears to have disappeared.  Not on Xbins, any of the other sources, and I need this thing.

Thanks for any info you can provide.
