Access 360hdd On My Pc

I have/can connect my 360hdd to my computer through SATA to USB adapter. The machine sees the device but Xplorer360 does not see the device. When I manage my storage devices, Windows asks me to initialize the drive before the system can use it. I am afraid that it will corrupt my drive if I do that. Is it okay to initialize the disc or dont do it? How can I access it with xplorer360?
