I get drive errors when opening Jungle flasher. And I had a issue with writing to the drive. I had to use dosflash to write back to the drive

"- Via card must also report status (Code 39)... no drivers loaded"

My problem is I spent two days trying to get a system setup for modding and tried everyting; and I do mean everything because my system would freeze or crash or turn into a really slow machine every time I hooked up a drive then ran JF.

I tried having the drive on at boot, just before loading JF and after first starting JF.

Finally against everyone's advice I install the windows drivers for the via card.  Presto.. worked like a charm!  I have flashed 4 Hitachi's, a Samsung and a BenQ with it since then and all of them were perfect.

Is there any way to have this new setting as an option with the default being on rather than forcing to see if drivers are installed?

I would really appreciate any advice as this is the best software out there!

Try disabling your Floppy Disk Drive Controller in Device Manager. Please let me know how you get on.

You might want to try uniATA as a replacement driver, this worked on my laptop without LiteOn/Via Freeze, it may be the best all round soloution for you.

VIA's own causes it unless you get the on/off timing right.

I'm afraid you've lost me here.  It looks like you are replying to one persons posting at the top and to mine at the bottom.  In regards to mine at the bottom; I'm not sure why I would want to install more drivers when the point of my posting was that this latest JF is looking for *any* windows drivers then refusing to proceed.

Aside from that the current drivers I have installed work fine.

Thanks Oggy going to try that.. it seems the universal ATA driver site is down.. any alternative places to get them?  In the meantime I have disabled the floppy controller as per your instructions as well.

The floppy controller should remove the device not ready message.

As for UniATA, I was trying to suggest a full all in one driver you could use.

LiteOns will probably freeze if you dont time the off/on right, meaning VIA works in 95% of cases, but, can be a fooker with LiteOn

Trying uniATA could fix the final 5%, and be the best all in one for you.

Of course, this is just a suggestion, you could just remove drivers / use DOS for Freezing LiteOns.

I myself, would try uniATA and see if it offers 100% compatability.

I would like to use the new versions but they took away a feature or function I have to have which seems to be only available on the original.  The open source from files or something, Key, Inquiry, and Indenitfy files.  The new versions ask for the original image.  I don't have one file or image; I have the 3 files that I have to make my dummy from.  Anyone knows how to make this work with the new versions?

DVDKey32 Tab, Load from Dump Files

Then, use the serial rebuilder applet wink.gif

this thing keeps getting better all the time.

Using it to update 360's to 1.5.1, and flash new ones just fine.

I had to disable floppy and anything else not connected for jungleflasher to work - no big deal.

It's a great app, and I have no problems, except for one, that is not necessarily related to jungleflasher, but I can't tell:

After i connect a drive, after a few seconds, my system slows to a crawl.  Everything is still 100% useable, its just slow as molasses, and doing the steps takes forever.

Any ideas?

That's what mine did until I installed the via drivers.. I have uninstalled them now and disabled my floppy controller and installed the UniATA as Oggy described above.   Just waiting for a drive to test it on now!
