360 Modification Disc v1.52
« Reply #45 on: February 03, 2020, 11:21:00 PM »

Also, just as a quick note, the VT6421A (RAID) card seems to be a lot more friendly with my disc then the VT6421 (Non-RAID) model.

The VT6421A (RAID) card is the one I personally use, but my disc has been tested and works fine with both cards.

If you are having issues with your VT6421 card you might want to try the VT6421A model instead.

Yeah i have been wondering about that, i cannot afford an CK3 kit for my benQ, So what is the risk of damaging something if i use the 360's power, will it brick and my 360 is screwed?

Are the chances high or low something will happen if i use my 360 for power?

The risk is not the power souce if you follow things as they should be (i.e. ensure video cable in 360 plugged in etc). The risk of bricking is on messing up the flashing, which is the same risk as with any of the kits :-)

all  my 360's and (all my friends and family) only used the 360 to power the drive.

Not sure what I'm doing wrong.

But when I boot the cd I just get  " .Error!. " .. Does the xbox have to be connected and on before you boot with the cd?

The mod disc v1.5 boots up just fine.

Thanks

You could always try using version 1.51 instead, but version 1.52 uses a whole new boot process that some motherboards don't support properly. (but they should, since my boot process is a normal standard on most motherboards)

All new motherboards should support my disc just fine.

It's a pretty old computer I have to admit..The amibios is dated 2003 and that was an update LOL. The disc boots perfectly on my laptop.. This is the first time i've had this problem but i'll try the mod 1.51... Thanks for the app and your help...

*Update*

I must be behind in the times, as my disc is currently using MTKFLASH for flashing Samsung TS-H943 drives, and apparently you can now use DOSFLASH to also flash the Samsung TS-H943 drives...

I will be updating my disc to v1.53 shortly to vastly improve the detection/dumping/flashing process of the Samsung TS-H943 drives on my disc.

I hope no one minds all these updates, I know it's getting quite repetitive... just understand that I am dedicated to making this disc the easiest method of flashing Samsung/Lite-On/BenQ drives available. happy.gif

P.S. And by easiest I mean I want it to be flat-out simple to modify your original drive in your 360. I know that there are many other options available out there, but for the common user I want this disc to be a one-stop shop. happy.gif

Hey Frosty quick ?

When I read the orig key I get

DVD Key @ 0xE030

When it writes the iXtreme i get

DVD Key @ 0xE040

Is this normal?

This my first time flashing any 360 drive and just want to double check.

Thanks

Yes, that is normal for the key to change position in the iXtreme firmware on all three drives. happy.gif

sorry as i'm sure this is answered elsewhere...

i'm about to update my ms28(previously modded to v1.4 by shop) to v1.51 using your disc.

do i still have to unlock firmguard using a specific disc in xb360's dvd-rom during mod process?

many thnx

The unlock disc is not necessary if you are using a VT6421 SATA card.

If you are attempting to use my disc with another SATA chipset (which I don't recommend) then yes you will need the disc.

You are the man!  Is there any kind of video tutorial for this?  I understand the concept of this disc and everything but I want to see what it looks like to hook up everything and see the whole process from start to finish.

Hello and thanks for your job on this disk...

i have a sutpid question but can't find the answer...

is it necessary to have the PCI SATA card mentioned in the nfo of the iso or it is possible to directly connect the drive to my computer (SATA Cable on my ASUS motherboard )

i have a Benq or LiteOn DVD drive and would like to use your disk which seems to be the eaysiest way to change the firmware of the dvd drive ?

thanks a lot for your answers,

here are my mobo characteristics :
Asus A8N-VM
SATA : ATA-133, Serial ATA-150 (RAID), Serial ATA-300 (RAID)
