Transcode 360?!
« on: March 16, 2009, 10:49:00 AM »

I used to use this to stream media from my PC to my 360, and it worked like a dream. However i recently had to re-install my vista 64-bit OS and now have had to re-install transcode 360. This has no led to several issues.

1.) Whenever i try to transcode on my xbox, i get the following error: "Object reference not set to an instance of an object"

2.) http://www.transcode360.co.uk is down (where there used to be an anti virus fix) and also http://www.runtime360.com/projects/transcode-360/ no longer hosts the downloads or forums!

Any help is appreciated, and if anyone has or knows where i can find the vista 64 bit anti virus fix, it would very much be appriciated.

Also is there an alternative to transcode 360? i tried tversity a long time ago, but transcode 360 worked better. has anything more recent been developed? lastly will something like XBMC ever be released for the 360?

Thanks!

After many hours i finally got it working. Turns out that the version available from xboxscene (V4.6 beta) is a bit dodgy! The version you want is 1.6.3, and as for the anti virus patch, it can be found in the MS Knowledge base under article 933049 (that has both 32 and 64 bit hotfixes)

Now i can stream any media format from my PC to my xbox with ease. Have been dying to watch saving private ryan in HD all day !!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/pop.gif)
