Xflasher 360 v0.75
Posted by XanTium | January 18 21:37 EST | News Category: Xbox360

Trancy released a new version of Xflasher 360 on modcontrol.com. The tool is now also available in english and french:
Quote

In the past there have been many users who have had problems when it comes to flashing their drive  under Windows (Drive-bricking, Windows freezes, etc.) so I have decided to program a DOS-based tool  that automatically does the following:
* Copying of the DVD-Drive Firmware
* Spoofing/patching of the Firmware
* Flashing the DVD-Drive with iXtreme

The Tool: Xflasher completes the entire Flash-Procedure. For this the original firmware as well as the the files iXtreme.bin, org.bin, key.bin, identify.bin, inquiry.bin or dummy.bin are  placed in separate folders. Note: Not all of the files mentioned above are created for every drive model.
DVD drives from Lite-On, BenQ, and Samsung/Toshiba are supported. It is not possible to flash Hi-tachi drives under DOS at the moment, if this should change in the future then newer versions of Xflasher  will most probably be released with the added support.

What's new/fixed in v0.75:
* Added option for read the DVD-Key several times
* Fix for read Samsung/BenQ DVD-ROM
* Added USB-formatting tool with DOS
* Added language menu at 1st start
* Added english language
* Added english How to
* Added french language
* Added french How to
* Bug fixing
* Fix for show correct ANSI-Fonts (German: like ä and ü) under Dos

Hi, yeah, but this you can also read inside the fullreadme.txt file and of course, we never say, that we made a tool that comes with a new programm/routine.
Sure, the also uses DosFlash and FirmTool, because it is the best choice. We only made an exe for DOS to let users use dosflash and firmtool easier.

Thanks goes to:

- Geremia, Modfreakz and Kai Schtrom for DosFlash

Hi Klutsh, we didn´t want and of course didn´t rip of your work on iPrep, our idea behind this little tool was to make the read/flash/spoof procedure a little bit easier of course also with other languagesupport, because a lot of german and french people have problems to understand english.
Also some people with a selfmade RS232 converter have problems to get the correct key, so we added the option to read the key serveral times.
Sure, it make a lot of things that your tool also can do, but every of this kind of tools makes the same, because every tool like this uses dosflash and firmtool for the flashing/reading/spoofing action.
To make an .bat that uses firmtool and dosflash isn´t the same non_big_move like our tool did/is but it is for a lot of noobs easy and that is that we want! smile.gif wink.gif

I hope everything is fine.

Best regards

I'm not fussed  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
Take what you can from it.

I was refering to "mkubt.exe", it was originally "HPUSBF.EXE" before I renamed it.
It came with the HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool Version 2.0.6, so although not my work, it was taken from iPrep.

One thing xflasher does not allow, is for abit of customization. The process is TOO automated. I had someone that needed to just flash (erased fine in windows, couldnt get drive to identify) so I told him to try out xflasher in dos. Xflasher automatically starts trying to dump keys, instead of prompting you for a action. Add options to specify what actions you would like to do.

There is this option already. If you put the necessary files (hack-lit.bin, key.bin, dummy.bin, inquiry.bin and identify.bin) for lite-on drive in this folder:  BACKUPS/1234567/12345 (must contain your serial no.). Start XFlasher 360 and type your serial no. In the main menu you have an extra option to flash your lite-on directly (without reading the dvd-key or spoofing again).

I'm finding that most of the tools released just make things harder... and I could have sworn I've flashed a hitachi in dos before, but perhaps I'm mistaken.

 As far as BenQ & Samsung go, dosflash is about as easy as it needs to be; any more auto-simplify will only lead to bad things (hopefully not writing when you want to read).

This is great... except for one thing....MY MOBO DOES'T SUPPORT USB BOOTING...and when the whole batch file is centered around first formating the USB drive with a copy of Startup dos, and then moves on from there, there is an issue there...

Oh well...I am going to try to format a flash drive with it, and then copy over every other file to a floppy....

I think that should work....

I may post back and tell you if it does...if I remember...which is probably not
