DO you get any errors??
If you do not, then try to backup your HD using Xplorer360 Xtreme 2 and the open that image with it.
I did this and I was able to see all the partitions.

Cant See Partition 3 With Xplorer360
« Reply #2 on: January 06, 2009, 03:47:00 PM »

Same boat as the OP, kinda:
my partition 3 was showing empty, so I imaged the whole thing based on DashX0's comment, and now when I pull up that image, I have content in the part 3, but all the information is garbled ASCII text, 1229 MB, with a save date of something like 0/17/2067?!

The one thing I am doing different than most of the rest of the folks, probably, is that I'm upgrading from a 60GB, not 20GB drive.

My 60 had a partition 0, partition 2, & partition 3.
My 120 only showed partition 1 after formatting and creating a user on the 360, then re-hooking up to the PC.

Ideas? Help of any kind would be greatly appreciated!

EDIT TO ADD: also, the garbled partition 3 is only one file, I do not have multipl efolders or files showing.

more edit to add: if I try to extract just partition 3, I do get an error: "Cannot write cluster; clusterId 1821487744 is out of range!"

It seems that I started to get the same problems as you did.
I have discovered that this happens (partition 3 only appearing with 1 file) usually when you cancel a dumping/extracting operation and the only solution I have been able to figure out is to format the disk using your preinstalled Windows tool to do so and backing up again.

Please see my updaded version of Hobartrus's tutorial.  You can find it here.  It's post#132  I'm sure you can modify this slightly for your 60gb drive.  Let me know if you have any questions.

i followed this method and its all good now

#  Create a full image backup using File -> Backup Image in Xplorer360 xtreme 2
# Complete step 1 above under New replacement drive to flash the new 120 GB drive
# Do full image restore using File -> Restore Image in Xplorer360 xtreme 2
# Boot to ms-dos and execute hddhackr -f once again to write the hddss.bin to sector 16 again (its overwritten when restoring a full backup using Xplorer360)
# Connect to Xbox 360, you will see that total space is ~13gb and none of the file files from the 20 GB backup shows up
# Fix this by formatting in Xbox 360, System -> Memory -> Hard Drive -> Format (or press Y button), enter the serial number to allow format
# Open the full image in Xplorer360 xtreme 2 and select partition 3 and Edit -> Extract to create a backup of all the files
# Connect disk to computer again, and drag all the files from the partition 3 file backup into partition 3 in Xplorer360 xtreme 2

Yours was actually the guide I used in the first place. I'm not sure what I could tweak, unfortunately. kbl2 seems to have the same issue I have, here.

Same issue here.

Followed PishPosh's updated tut. flashed 120gb  works fine in the 360. Unfortunately when connected to pc it only shows partition 1 in Xplorer 360 Xtreme.

through searches I've found many people with the same problem but no clear solution.

I created an offline account after format (per Reaper527's guide), no luck.

I tried another suggested fix of restoring the partition2 .bin file, but xplorer just opens a progress bar and hangs.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Solved my issue.
I had to extract a full image of the 20 gig and restore it to the 120 as Rage2Kill mentioned above.

After formatting in xbox,  xplorer was able to pick up partitions 0, 2, and 3 instead of just partition 1. All old data was transferred without issue. Drive works great.

I'm sure this was discussed elsewhere but the search isn't functioning right now.

Thanks for all the guides

thanks for highlighting this up again because i am also having the same issue.
will be ok to load 20GB image to 120 GB hdd?
will the hdd(120gb) will be limit to 20gb space after the loading?

I am thinking of cloning the drive..
20gb to 120 gb..
will that do the job too?

You are very vague in your post .  I can tell you after days of searching and just finally diggin up an old (2006) post. I can answer this in part.

WHat mem unit?  I have an external HDD hooked thru a soldered sata port.   I dont see anything but partition one, but I can install everything there with no hitch.
I can transfer xbla content and themes on to the HDD thru burnt cd's, and it works.

Now can I get an avatar? it says I have to DL an update from microshaft when I try to edit it,  but I can still use premium themes.
