Been trying to flash a brand new WD1600BEVS-22USTO drive with HDDHACKR -f with no luck. Hddhackr locates the drive after I hexedit the ports to use and it will create the undo file but it then gives this error before the flash: "ec sector count was not in the FW". I have googled it and I get two hits to messages in this forum but no answer as to the meaning or solution of the message. I've tried 4 computers and different SATA cards.

Any suggestions?

got a wd1600bevs-07RST0
-error ec not in the fw , evrytime, anyone else tried one of these? or know what the error means?

ok well still no luck.
i tried booting dos off an sd card with hddhackr .91 (with and without changing the last couple of bits with the hex edita) difrent sata cables, diffrent sata ports, bios settings.....
only diffrence is the type of error i get......

first i kept getting the ec is not in the fw error, but now it wont detect that drive at all when it says choose a number 1-4, theres nothing there.... and im stuck..
ill probly go try to do it on anther totally diffrent compter later if i dont find any answers in the next coupla days......

is it just me or dose life suck when ur looking though these forums....
