Backup Gamesaves Using Linux?
« on: September 20, 2008, 02:45:00 PM »

Hi,

I would like to backup my gamesaves from my XBOX360 20 GB-drive to my computer for backup, but there's two problems.

First:
I don't have any tools, but Datel Xport 360 is a good choice, but I can't afford it right now unfortunately, so I'm looking for another option.

Second:
I run Linux and only Linux. And even if the software to retrieve the files may working with Wine, I often had problems browsing the actual unit (which in his case will be the 20 GB harddrive). Of course I can use Virtualbox, non OSE and hope that work.

So starting from zero, what's your recommendation? It's just copy from, not too. And I know even that can cause corrupted data, but that's another issue. The savefiles isn't that big if I exclude the packs, but the memorycard is far from worth its price.
