LOL
Thought it was my computer or something.
I kept getting stack overflows after reading/flashing firmwares two days ago.
Took me like 3 hours to get this shit to work.
I just got the firmware which it read out properly.
Since it wouldnt prepare the hacked firmware this was pretty much the only thing it could do so I decided to prepare the firmware with firmware toolbox myself after several boots, swapping usb sticks harddrives etc...
Flashing worked as well but I nearly had an heart attack when it showed stack overflow after flashing the thing.
Glad it worked and it is a good feeling to hear that it was not me or my PC who caused this.
Will test it with the next BenQ, it better works then, LOL.

Can you try the Alternate DOS .exe I posted here: http://www.x-projects.org/index.php?topic=86.0

If I can't get this working I'll drop back to the batch files.

It seem's DosFlash is using a whole load of memory and not letting go of it.

As previously stated the new IPrep supports flashing a ms28 with a nvidia chipset. Has anyone had any success with this. I have tried this but have not had any success.

Sorry, that's been removed from this Beta, only untill the bug's with DosFlash are sorted.

Nice screenshot which of course is always helpful (not many people go to the trouble of doing it), I just hope you don't mind exposing your console serial number to the world!  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

I got this same error after selecting the backup and patch option, so I ended up doing the dosflash manually and everything seems to be working well. Thank you for your efforts.  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

I whacked the USB stick in my computer, went in to the backup folder for my serial number and there was indeed a 256k file there dumped by dosflash, except it was called:

BENQ-OFW.BIN

and not

BEN-OFW.BIN like the iprep software seems to be expecting  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ph34r.gif)

I think I had a similar issue trying to use the flash option.

It is possible a simple search and replace by Klutsch will fix this particular problem.

thanks for your reply!

never used dosflash manually as ive only done a few 360s before and used the old iprep method where you type in dben or fben etc to flash a benq.

how do i carry out the dosflash method?
