I have installed a freedb server on my network. this is called jefco available from jesterware.org. this opens an http as well as cddbp protocol at the port numbers 80 and 8880 respectively. this is a java based server and what it does it reads from the freedb archive (on my local network) i downloaded from freedb.org and installed as per jefco directions. according to jefco the url for retreiving info is http://<servername>:<port_number> which in my case is http://sachinwalia

i have configured other windows based player to use jefco as a freedb server and they are working pretty fine as they are able to retreive album info properly but when i try to configure xbmc to use this server in xboxmediacenter.xml file and then try to retreive album info from it then it is giving me error "error, error in opening socket".. can somebody help me figuring out how do i do that.

is it due to the fact that: for all official freedb servers the path for http-access is /~cddb/cddb.cgi and in my case it is not so probably xbmc is looking for something like http://<servername>/~cddb/cddb.cgi or something.. the path in my case is http://<servername>

please help as only xbmc is causing this kind of trouble and all windows based player are easily able to interact with my local freedb server.
