I just released OSx360 v0.5

This is not an update for stealth checking, it is a compatibility update. For users of Mac OS X 10.3 and below, Apple's integrated Disc Recording software will not set a manual layer break. I have added growisofs command line executable to the application bundle to allow any user to burn using this method instead of Apple's built in software. growisofs will not verify the burn, but it will set the layer break and is very stable. I added a very simple GUI that is shared between both burning methods as well.

If my previous versions are working for you, this is NOT a must have update. If OSx360 failed to launch or burn on your computer before, this is for you. In either case, I would like to know how this works out for you.

Many thanks to iDog (creator of iBurn360) for his source code that helped me finalize my GUI for growisofs.

I downloaded your software. I have used x360 iso hacker and it didn't work. I also tried iburn360 and it didnt work. I get please insert in xbox 360 console error. I used x360 to look at image file and it says unhacked but its 7.3gb. Is this wrong? How do I get unpatched image file?

I'm still waiting on more info.  I can't wait for an app to check stealth of a game.  I havent had any problems with iburn360.

I used internal dvd burner and quality media.

I am going to keep an eye out on this app though to see how the developing can come along.  I dont have the money to just test out burns at the moment.

Keep up the hard work.

For your information, some stealth checks are already done by OSx360 (since 0.3/0.4). You can check it out without burning. Some other stealth checks need to read the default.xex so Xbox File System (XFS) extraction needs to be implemented first. I have already started coding the XFS extraction, but I will need some time to finish it and find a nice stylish OS X way to display it in the GUI. I want to have this completed by this weekedn but who knows. It seems pretty straight forward.

Keep an eye out for it. If you want, I have an rss feed available on my website.

I can't tell you how to get an un-patched file other than getting your original xbox 360 game and ripping it to an iso using a utility such as Xbox Backup Creator. I really don't know how much data is patched and how to undo it. You could probably contact Wattks to ask how to undo a patch, but I don't know what he'll say.

Other than that, try my software and see if it passes verification. If it passes verification and still doesn't work, I would recommend either making sure the media is good quality (Verbatim) and that you are not using a Matshita DVD drive. I have this drive and it is known to sometimes produce coasters even with good media.

Good Luck.

Just my weekly update for all the Mac users:
OSx360 has been updated to version 0.6 Alpha.

Things are really beginning to take shape.
-The Xbox File System is now read, and will be updated in the near future to allow for file system extraction.
-The MediaID (located in default.xex) is now verified against the DMI, and SS.
-The Region Flags for Xbox 360 games are now displayed.
-The GUI has been updated to show disc image information, and future functions are displayed (but disabled).
-Lots of validation problems have been resolved.
-The OSx360 Debug Log can now be viewed in Console.App (~/Library/Logs/OSx360.log).
-Much more has been added, but will not be functional yet... Check the website every week or so for an update!

That's what it's for... basically any xbox 360 disc image. Read the website or the release log if you want more details.

I am making OSx360 as a mac alternative to some of the great pc iso utilities out there such as Xbox Backup Creator and Mulleter. I am also working with some of the creators of the software so most of the what OSx360 will do will be the same as those programs.

I do not verify splitvid iso's yet, but that should be done soon.

No, there is no Mac software to rip Xbox360 games yet.
I have looked into direct drive access using xcode, and it seems a little out of my range, since I am still new to coding for mac. I would like to say it should be possible, but the code must be written at a higher leven than I am used to.

If anyone is skilled in XCode and the IOKit.Framework, I would love to work with them to release an Xbox 360 ISO ripper for mac. It may also be necessary to write a driver that would allow those specific drive commands.

It's still early in development. Thanks for the interest, but I need people to test it.

Most people will say "Oh, It doesn't work for me" when the software is not the problem. I have spent countless discs before I realized the built in "SuperDrive" was a not so super Matshita drive. That was the culprit. Media also is a big deal when using a burner like the Matshita.

This software has been verified working by multiple users and in other forums. Read the website or the release note to see possible solutions to bad burns.

And for your information, saying "Nope, it doesn't work" doesn't help me or anyone else. Tell me what you did, what you used, and maybe a log file. I have a handfull of people that initially had bad burns (not software related), and I helped them resolve the issue.

Thanks,
