360 Supporting Hd X264 Is This True

ok guys i know that the 360 is supporting hd wmv, not sure is quality is lost when you convert x264 to hd wmv but i have a few movies in hd wmv and is superb, however i hear that the 360 dashboard is or is going to get an update to be able to run x264 files is this true anybody know when this is happening
