hi

i installed newest xbmc yesterday and ive been using it and its great cept i always getting the black bg and red writing with some error every so often

Is this a common problem? fixable? plz help?

newest as in 2005-02-10?

With normal mplayer.dll or with the alternat core?

I had a similar problem until I went into the settings and inputted my IP, gateway, DNS, etc manually rather than automatic. try that. <

yea it says something about ftp when it comes up

acually its 2005-02-01

and its probably the normal mplayer.dll, i didnt change anything <

I've gotten this same screen twice now, and both times when using the Kai module.  I guess it's just flaky.  Never with any audio/video playback.

At least it 's better to get this instead of a lockup :) <

Same here, check if u have the ftp server enabled. I disabled the ftp server on mine and it never happened again so far. Everytime it did show was while viewing xlink kai rooms.  :D <

I've had this problem on a 1.6B using an OPX chip... I fixed the problem by redownloading XBMC via Avalaunch. <
