Use these FW files if you originally had a BenQ drive (with 64930C firmware) on your Xbox 360.

All you have to do is pick which firmware (Xtreme/iXtreme) you want, insert your key and flash the .BIN file to your drive.

**IMPORTANT** You MUST have the BenQ drive with the firmware 64930C for these files to work!!

This package allows you to use any Samsung drive with any (Xtreme/iXtreme) firmware already spoofed and tested. All you have to do is pick which firmware (Xtreme/iXtreme) you want, insert your key and flash the .BIN file to your drive. For now this is a Firmware Toolbox work around fix, hopefully support for this drive fw type is added. Hitachi package currently in BETA testing.

and this is useful for?? i have never understand all this spoofing stuff? i have a benq and a sammy.. is there any good thing i can do with this for my benq?

If you have the model of BENQ listed in this thread and have a spare Samsung laying about, you can spoof the Samsung as that model of BENQ.

"To spoof" means the Drive will report itself as another make of drive. So in this case the Samsung will tell the Xbox 360 that it is a BenQ DVD Drive.

this is basically a xtreme or ixtreme samsung firmware spoofed as a benq 64930C which can already be done with fwtoolbox or a manual hex edit, let me check it out and ill post some more info later.

not much difference, i think this is for those of you who have the 2nd fw version, either way its really simple to change that text to what ever you want it to be so this really isn't a great accomplishment, i sure hope there aren't gonna be ppl running around thinking there's a ixtreme fw for benq now.

I got my firmware from my BenQ but since firmware toolbox 4 cant read it how do I get my cd key from this firmware?

To get your key you still need to manually open the 256 orig.bin dump with a hex editor program. There are free open source editors which you can download and use.

The important informatation on the Benq drive that there are two models.
The firmware templates that gigabyte is talking about is for the newer 64930C.
Secondly on the newer benq firmware the key location, there will be four possible keys but only one correct one starting from hex location c030 - c060

When getting your key you need to copy the one 32 digit string.
Start with c060

eg:

f1 b1 fd 37 95 74 17 79 80 19 77 1b a9 fd d5 45

Use firmware toolbox to open the spoofed samsung ixteme or xtreme firmaware by gigabyte. I would first try using just the xtreme template first.
Just paste key and replace key. Now just flash your sammy Ms25 with the firmware.
If is give you errors eg put disk in 360 console, try the next key string @c030.
then c040, c050 until it boots games.

This is excellent progress but don't get too excited everyone. Not many people have a spare Sammy lying around so this actually won't help many people. But don't get me wrong this is still awsome progress on the BenQ!!!!

In fact it might help me... my 360 A/V connector died... and i have a Sammy drive...

Just wondering if i get a new Xbox soon i'll get the new Benq 64930C... Most Elite ones have it right? Or the new 360 Pro with HDMI too?

Anyways it nice to know i can replace a Benq with a Sammy...
