How To Ping A Xbox 360?

Ok so I have not been around that much... my last post was probably before the 360 even came out so this site has grown TREMENDOUSLY!!!!!

Ok so with the old xbox you can ping the ip and get a return address... thus it is cool for my home automation (HomeSeer) to tell me when my xbox is on and what not... When I got my xbox 360 I was unable to ping it and "We" (HS Community) were curious if this is duable....

if you have a way of finding the IP you should be able to ping it.
