What are the functional differences between the versions ie does it detect/check anything different from the 64 bit variant, would i be missing out on extra features ?

Its not a 64 bit variant, its just updated. And if i could remember the differences id fix the silly bug (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
Sadly i cannot reproduce it at all

Just as a side-note, loading games from dvd-r is functional for me in 9.7 (although I don't know when I'd ever use it).  Last I heard, you thought that loading from anything but an original disc was still broken.  Way to be thorough!

Ugh.  After reading my post from a couple days ago, I realize I sound like a smart-ass.  I was trying to let badsheepy know the functionality from a regular users point of view and to congratulate him on the great job he has done enabling reading from so many sources.  I didn't mean to sound sarcastic at the end there.

With regards to the DVD reading problem, it only seems to happen on some drives. I havent got one it doesnt work on, so its somewhat hard for me to test, but I am doing my best to look into it. If you get the problem and have another drive, try it and see smile.gif

Hi Guys

I tried a few drives and can confirm that:

Working O.K.

HL-DT-ST DVD+-RW GWA4164B E113 - ( so I'll use this one to read for now )

NOT Working

SONY     DVD-ROM DDU1615  FYS2
TSSTcorp DVD-ROM SH-D162C TS04 ( Kreon Drive 0.81 )

Though all of these drives did work with the 9.5 xboxdvd.dll file.

Regards

Kinvig

Ok I wanted to verify media stealth before i pop it in my newly modded 78fk =). I followed the process:

View ISO Details
Load From DVDR (I have the copy in the kreon drive and is detected in windows)
Load disk (Loads successfully)
Click next and it checks video and then i get this error

Microsoft.NET Framwork
Unhandled exception has occured in your application. If you click continue the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you quick, the application will close.

I got to the same spot after doing windows updates and i did see framework in there and i get the same error except the title was DVDMulleter instead of microsoft framework. I have checked the original ISO with mulleter and everything checks out so i imagine the DVD will as well. Only thing is that when i try to check the DVD after its burned with the game file it gives the error still and then the DVD drive locks up and wont work until i restart my computer as i have seen another person had this same issue with neeing to restart.

I tried burning a few copies with all the same errors.  I wil say this though (not sure if it makes a difference or not) when i tried to play the game in the console it read for a long time and got to the beginning screen of gears of war where it says "Online experience may change" or something like that.  After that the screen goes blank.

think it could be the Media im using? They are the Dynex brand from Best Buy. So-so suggested i dl a different version of mulleter but even so the game would not play in the console....Im thinking it MIGHT be the media since the ISO checks out with mulleter.  Your thoughts?

I'm having the exact same problem as you, but I'm using Verbatim media.  I've ripped my originals, checked iso with mulleter, and they pass.  I then burn to disc, they work under Hitachi iXtreme 1.2 rev2.  If I try those same discs under the dvdr option in mulleter, I get the exception error and have to reboot to eject.

Dynex are some of the cheapest and worst media that ive found

if you arent using a top-notch DL burner, then i suggest getting Verbatim and no other
If you ARE using a top quality burner, then i suggest Verbatim, Memorex, TDK, or Fuji

the cdfreaks forums have a wealth of info on burners and media

Have a question that hopefully someone here can answer. I looked through the forum but I couldn't find anything on this. I made an iso of a game to burn at a later time when I opened up the iso and it did it's check it gave me this message "ISO appears to be zero padded. This ISO is unlikely to EVER boot." Can anyone explain this please everything is checked as good except iXtreme Compatible which is what I was really needing. Any help would be great! Thanks in advance.

I'm having same problems as you with the zeropadded image :S

the other thing I'm having problems with is the "auto-fix" everytime I try to use it with iso's that work with the auto-fix I get the message "could not get requested file" is does someone know what it could be ?

zeropadded images are missing the video partition (and probably missing a bit more), some tools (like Schtrom) have an options for full backup, blank backup (zero padded), or video partition only.  Also xdvdmulleter does not include the video files for the "autofix" feature.

Sorry for the double post, but I just tested the app and it works fine for iso's but not disc's just like the others have reported.  Reading from a BenQ DW1620 (B7W9).  To try and help pinpoint this issue, all of the checks are working up to this point:

9.0 Log (Working)
CODE
SS information valid - Layerbreak is correct
Checking PFI values
PFI Validated (Start sector is ok)
Checking video partition
Getting partition Details from ISO
Video partition size: 129824
Game partition size: 3567872
Layerbreak: 1913760
Video Layer 0 size: 0
Video is size: 2724

9.6/9.7 Log (Not Working)
CODE
SS information valid - Layerbreak is correct
Checking PFI values
PFI Validated (Start sector is ok)
Checking video partition
Getting partition Details from ISO
Video partition size: 129824
Game partition size: 3567872
Layerbreak: 1913760
Video Layer 0 size: 0
Video is size: 2724
Error reading sectors x1
Error reading sectors x2
Error reading sectors x3
Error reading sectors x4
Error reading sectors x5
Error reading from specified disc.. Giving up

I couldn't find version 9.5, so I didn't get to test it.  But I did test the XboxDVD.dll a little bit between these versions:

9.6/9.7 both of these apps failed with all 3 dll's (the 9.0 dll crashes due to new features not being implemented yet).

9.0 works with all 3 dll's.  So the error is with a totally NEW feature and has nothing to do with any existing rutines that were modified since 9.0.  This should help you narrow down the cause of this issue a bit.

Hey everyone I did a search and couldn't find any info on this.  I just hope that I'm not the only one who is having this problem...

Downloaded the two latest versions of XDVDMulleter and after extracting them to a folder I try running the executable and get the following error message:

XDVDMulleter.exe - Fatal error
CLR error: 80004005
The program will now terminate.

This shouldn't have to do with having .net framework installed on my machine since I've had it installed now for quite a while and haven't run into any programs that need it.  Any help or suggestions would be really appreciated, thanks

I have beta 9 and every time I put in a backup to run the check from "Load DVDR", it would load ISO successfully, then it runs "checksumming video partition", then an "unhandled exception error occurred" comes up!  I have to quit or continue, but it doesn't give me any information.

Is this software that buggy?  I've tried it on XP and Vista with the same result.  At the end of the log.txt file it says "Error reading from specified disc ... Giving up".  Great! sad.gif

What am I doing wrong?  I extracted the files to the desktop and ran the program.  Do I have to do something else, or install it somewhere else?

Last question, any other way to check if backups are ixtreme compatible other than using this software?

Help! TIA!

I was not able to get 9.6/9.7 to read from a disc, but 9.0 worked fine.  And someone else said 9.5 works but I could not find that version to test it.

I pm'd badsheepy with a tool that shows you only the changes that were made in the source code to try help track it down, but I haven't spent much time looking it over myself since I only have 9.0 and 9.7 source code.  Hopefully someone else who has trouble with 9.6/9.7 can confirm that 9.5 works; and hopefully badsheepy has something closer to 9.5 source code so that he can compare it with 9.7 as that would greatly reduce the amount of code to look over (or even 9.6 source code would help).

Maybe 9.5 should be re-uploaded?  I just checked one that was claiming it was 9.5.3 but the files were md5'd as 9.6.
