I've only tried 2 different discs...I stopped testing it out because I was sick of rebooting my PC.  But I tried both of them in v8 and they both worked.

Seems there is some kind of bug in the dvdr code somewhere. Im planning on a complete rewrite of that for next release, to make it nicer, more reliable, and rip originals. Dont hold your breath though, its quite a big job (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

As for your exact problem though, all i can say is.. it works for me, so I have no idea what might be wrong. Perhaps something else is accessing the drive? Sadly I just today installed windows vista 64bit, so I cant even list drives at the moment to try and work it out.

Just ran into a bug with v9.2:

I tried the CRC Checker and got the following error.. the program didn't halt so its not so bad.

Thanks for the reply badsheepy, and thanks for the great utility!  I'll keep messing around with it to see if I can figure out a pattern or anything.

This bug, and that of the infinite loop in autofix are both known about. When i can duplicate them (and potentially one more bug..) I'll release beta 9.3 smile.gif

Oh, and apologies for forgetting 9.2 source, by the time i thought about it it wouldnt compile any more, 9.3 will have it.

I can recreate it pretty frequently if you need any help debugging....

some post removed

on the rules again,
1) no discussion of reinjecting components in existing image (no backup of backup), use mulleter to define if the image is good, if not redo from the original with a samsung or Kreon drive and XBCr/Schtrom.

2) no discussion of online database.

thks all for your understanding

So I read that you cannot create a DVD5 360 game from a folder. Sos what is the typical process for this? Choose DVD5 from the menu and load an iso then create? I tried it with one disc and I needed to remove 250 megs, so I thought I could extract, I replace the other languange movies with a smaller movie file, created the image and burned. Of course that didn't work due to it being from a folder. So as long as I can load an iso and it's able to compress that it should technically work?

here, you cannot discuss backing up from a folder so you may want to remove from your post any mention of it
it doesnt work for X360 games anyway
also, 360 games wont boot from DVD5

after you have backed up your legally owned 360 game you can edit the iso by removing/replacing files
the only reason i can see to this is to replace warnings or ads with blank movies so it gets to the main menu faster

You cant create a 360 iso from ANYTHING but an original disk atm. There are certain sectors which need to be present, and we dont know which ones they are.

Also: 9.5.x has a bug whereby i began checking for zeroed padding, not expecting any retail games to have any.. and they somewhat perplexingly do. 9.6 will most likely be out by the time you read this to fix that exact problem.

Hi Guys

Is it ok to use the 9.5 version xboxdvd.dll in the new 9.7 version as the 9.7 version xboxdvd.dll after checksumming video fails to an unhandled exception and stops at step 85 in the log ( the next step would be checking ss file exists when looking at the succesful log.)

regards

I dont think it would work. I am assuming you only get the error when loading games from dvdr? I cant reproduce it, although others cant NOT reproduce it, so its somewhat hard to fix.

Also, beta 9.7 is out which fixes 64 bit dvd loading and unrarring etc, and some other things.

Thanks for the reply.

I did try using the xboxdvd.dll from the 9.5 version and can confirm it does work in the 9.7 version, ( overwriting after backing it up )  for my system, winxp sp2 with .net framework 3.0.

What are the functional differences between the versions ie does it detect/check anything different from the 64 bit variant, would i be missing out on extra features ?

Regards

Good work
