2 Xbox Mce Extenders
« on: May 11, 2007, 04:38:00 PM »

Hi,

ive just picked up a 2nd xbox360, set it up with my mce 2005 pc along with my 1st xbox360, so i currently have 2 xbox360s running as mce extenders off one mce pc...

my mce pc only has a single dvb-t card (hauppauge nova) - i can currently view the same channel on both xbox360s (at the same time) via the mce extender interfaces, obviously when i change the channel on one xbox, the channel on the 2nd xbox360 changes aswel (as i only have one tuner card)....

if i swap the tv card for a dual tuner card in the pc, would i be able to watch different programs on each xbox360 (at the same time)? i.e. would the 2nd xbox be able to 'see' that the 1st tuner is being used (by the 1st xbox) and use the 2nd one or would it still display the channel viewed on the 1st xbox?

sorry, im prob not the best at explaining this! if anyone has already done this, any help/info would be greatly appreciated!!

thanks  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) ,
Matteo

I would like to know this as well. I plan on another 360 for bedroom. My current 360 works nice with vista media center for recorded shows as well as 720P/1080P WMVHD reencoded movies (Casino Royale BLURAY Rip looks stunning!)
I would imagine a dual tuner card should work but only way to know for sure is to try. Hopefully someone will post their results.

Yes. I have a Dual Tuner Haupauge PVR500 and two 360's as extenders and can watch 2 diff. channels on each room. My only suggestion would be to go with a completely hardwired network, preferred is 1000MBps. Wireless the lag will be terrible.
