http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?sho...88754&st=30

we've been trying to figure this thing out. I now have everything i can think of and the thing still won't work. I have XBC 2.4 with a Samsung Sh-d163a Sata dvd-rom and a pioneer 111d. When i load a disc into the samsung and open xbc it recognizes the game but won't let me start the rip.

The Samsung Sh-d163a drive WILL NOT rip a game if it's plugged into a VIA sata card. I never thought of this because XBC and every other program saw the game in the drive. For some reason it just didn't work. I hooked it straight to my board and all is well. Thanks to everyone (especially sosotiit) for their help. Hopefully someone learns from my 2 week battle.

Hey everyone!
I am a longtime reader, but short on posting until now. First off, props to Redline and everyone else that has helped make 360 backups easy. For some reason, I have ran into a problem with backing up my copy of GRAW2 using XBC v2.4. When I use v2.3 I get the "Unknown Partition" error. I uninstalled v2.3 completely and installed v2.4. When I try to start XBC v2.4 with the disc already in the tray it (the program) will not open at all. No big deal I guess. So I start v2.4 without the 360 disc in the drive and it starts up. So far, so good, until I put the disc in. When I am on the "Read" tab and put a disc in the program sits there and "thinks" for roughly 2.5 minutes. Once it is done reading the disc the mouse arrow cannot choose "Start", that button is still greyed out. I have know idea how to fix this and have tried most of what I can think of. My setup is as follows right now:

Xp Home SP2
1 GB Ram
AMD Sempron 3000+
1.80 GHz
ECS K8M800-M2 Motherboard

F: Pioneer DVR-111D
E: Samsung SH-D162C w/Kreon 0.81
Both drives are set to CS

I have tried both drives as masters and both drives as slaves (not at the same time). I apologize for the long post and look forward to any help that I may receive.
Thanks-

unsure.gif Somehow I solved my own problem... I know I've done this setup already but oh well, I guess. Maybe this will help others:

-Both drives on primary IDE on motherboard
-Samsung SH-D162C set as master
-Pioneer 111D set as slave

Now XBC v2.4 works perfectly. Go figure?!? tongue.gif  Again Redline, props, and props to everyone else who moderates and takes part in these forums, I have gotten lots of info and help.

Thanks-

Hey, does anyone know if XBC works with drives on external USB enclosures? I bought a SH-D162C and a DVR-111D, but since I only have access to a laptop I have to buy an external USB enclosure to use them. Will this work with XBC?

Yes, it works just fine.  Your enclosure may require the drive to be set as master in order for it to show up in windows, read the documentation that comes with it.

DOOD, what are you hooking your 360 drive up to? I had the same problem because my sata card wasn't compatable with my sata drive.

My sata ports are built into my motherboard... It isn't that it isnt compatible because i have got it to extract images with 2.2 and 2.3, but i have no idea what 2.4 wants from me lol... i tried using schtroms last night, worked perfect, i might be sticking with that from now on if i dont find a fix soon.
