Sharing Is Careing!
« on: January 03, 2007, 11:27:00 PM »

I’m having a problem with sharing any media with my 360 from my windows XP Pro SP2 PC.  Previously, I had my PC sharing with my 360, for a long time never one problem. But recently I needed to reinstall Windows XP.  After I did a fresh reinstall I was no longer able to share any media with my 360.  My first attempt was with Zune, and Zune picked up the 360 and told me that is was sharing media.  The 360 would not detect any computers sharing media. So I downloaded WMP11 and went throught the same process and my 360 still did not find any computers. Everytime I tested the connection on the 360 after it fails to find a PC.  The test Passes the wired connection and has an IP address, but could not detect a PC.  I then uninstalled Mcafee firewall that was on my pc, and disabled Windows Firewall.   The PC would still detect the 360 but the 360 would not detect PC.   If anyone has information please help!

hey, not sure if your still having the same problem or not, but i was having a similar problem so maybe this will help.  I was using Media Player 11 and would click on the share media thing and it said it was sharing it to my xbox 360 but the xbox never showed up any files...i had to click the library tab on the windows media player and choose "add to library"..then click "add"...find a folder that had some music in it...and then hit "ok" and "ok" again and once it was done searching for these i went back to the media player on the 360 and the ones i had just added were there...basically try to manually add files to your library even if you alreayd have a ton of files on there...hope that helps
