Need Help Streaming Media To 360
« on: December 26, 2006, 11:57:00 AM »

2 Days ago I got the xbox 360, first I tried using the WMP11 on XP SP2, I have library full of music and few video files. I went into Library, then share media, checked the checkmark to enable sharing, pressed ok, WMP11 was unresponsive for about 1-2 minutes, and after that nothing happened.

So that method wasn't working.

Then I tried  TVersity Media Server v0.9.9.1, Installed it on two different PCs, first I tried windows 2003 machine, added media to be shared, refreshing the library took about 2+ hours. Xbox 360 found the computer, but there was no media, no music, and no pictures no video files. Then I uninstalled it from 2003, disconnected the PC in 360, installed it on another computer with XP SP2, refresh took also close to 2 hours. Xbox found the computer again, but just like before there was no media, no pictures, no music and no videos.

Pictures I’m trying to share are all JPG, taken with few different digital cameras (SD200, SD400, SD630, G3, G7, 20D etc...)
Music is all MP3, mostly VBR, and some CBR.

Video mostly Divx or Xvid, some mpeg, mpeg2, ra, mov

Network

All machines have static IPs,

Tried with UPNP on and off (same result)
tried with DHCP server on and off (same result) MS recommends to have DHCP on

Router D-LINK gigabit gamer lounge DGL-4300 + 8 port D-LINK gigabit switch connected to port 4 on DGL-4300.

Switch shouldn't cause problems as all machines are on the same network.
