Ss Merger Cannot Connect To Database

I am trying to use SS Merger and it constantly gives an error that it cannot login to the database.  I assume it's connecting to a remote server to compare checksums.  I have seen other reports of this issue on other sites but no one seems to offer a solution.  My firewalls and antivirus are shut off and I opened the ports on my router.

My guess is the author has shutdown the database because the error says the user "ssmerger" cannot login.  Anyone know anything?  This is driving me nuts!!

Could it be that Xboxhacker.net is down, and because its down, that the database is down, if it was hosted there, as I believe the creator of SS Merger used that as his main quarters.

An Moderator or Admin has to know something?  This is a widly used tool and no one in the scene has made any mention on why the program is broken or whats needed to fix it.

i think helldoc has took his database offline becouse nobody is sending him any money through paypal.
he should relese his database of ss.bin to the scene i think
ps anybody know where i can get a rainbow six vegas PAL ss.bin? anyone!

There is no official announcement but I see from posts from Helldoc on xboxhacker, he paid for the hosting himself....so it seems the poster 3 post top of me is correct in that people probably werent donating...and it didnt help that dude doesnt even own a xbox360 himself yet.  I wonder if any websites will step up and host the database for free?

It's not working for me either...is it for everybody? Or just on some computers?

More importantly is there a solution/alternate method (other than buying a Samsung drive) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/uhh.gif)

Yes, SS Merger database is down!
Why?
I kept it up as long as donation we're paying 50% off the hosting but once, the database was hacked, all SS MD5 entry and comments were deleted and a new table was created with the name : Increase your security.

If enough people wants it, i'm starting to think about SS Merger 2.0 but keep in mind that all previous data has been lost...

Could somebody provide an ASP.NET 2.0 host with an MS SQL database, I think the scene would be gratefull as with the release of XTREME 5.0 a lot of tools will be required to validate that your original xbox and single layer 360 games are properly made.

A lot of people donated, and a really big thanks to them, but after 2-3 months, donation amount has lowered to about 20% off the bandwidth/hosting fee...

Sorry to hear it got hacked...how come no announcement? Everyones been going nuts tongue.gif  I'm sure people wouldnt mind starting a new database, as the tool is a big help and some people just like contributing.
