Question About X360sam0.6
« on: December 11, 2006, 08:39:00 AM »

I was able to successfully flash a TS drive with the ms28 firmware. One thing though is that in the SAMSUNG folder of the X360SAM0.6 application I used, the readme instructs to put both xtreme42a AND xtreme42B. Is this correct or did the author meant or? The 2 readmes in the application mention to put both of them in the folder. If that's the case, then what firmware is flashed on my drive - 42a or 42b? TIA.

you put both in the samsung folder.  when you type "samreada" or "samreadb" it will dump your orig f/w and modify the hacked f/w with your key and create "hacked.bin"
if you type just samread, it used the version "b" of the xtreme f/w.

Thanks Killa for clearing up the unsettling and uneasy feeling I had. So if I were to use the 42a fw, then I would type SAMREADA XXXXXXX YYYYY to read and dump the FW and SAMHACK XXXXXXX YYYYY to flash the drive.

yes
if you have flashed already with samhack then it should be version b of the f/w.  this is the slow/quiet read speed for backups.  if you just want normal read speed, just insert an original game first, then eject and put in a backup.  now backups will read at normal speed.  when you power off, it goes back to slow/quiet mode.
