Editing Skins

i previously used xbmp player up until tonight so i knew how to do all that but for a skin with xbmc i know how to change the bg and shit but the huge ass icon things on the main menu block half my screen.. EX. the my videos icon and so on... you know liek the huge image of the tvor the radio and all that stuff.. where are those located in the skin folder so that i may either make them transparent or get rid of them?

most of the skins out there have compressed images which are foudn in the texture.xpr file you can't extract them, to change them though, get an image you like put it in the media folder and name it what you want, make sure you change each reference in the xml to suite that name change.  You will have to play around with positioning and size.
