There's a new tool which can extract files from your xbox 360 hd (directly or from image).

x360.py 0.1

Pro:
It can extract PIRS files directly from the hd/image.
It's much faster than x360tool.
It's probably faster than explorer360 because all is done in one step.
It's a command line tool.
It needs python installed.
It's tested on linux only but should work on windows and OSX.
It can list a partition and display each file's PIRS title.
100% usermode.

Contra:
There's no GUI.
It needs python installed.
The command line interface is quite crude.
