Hack360 Hitachi v2.3
Posted by XanTium | November 4 19:06 EST

Flash78 released a new Windows PPF-based firmware flashing tool for Hitachi-LG drives:
Quote

This Pack installs Xtreme 2.3/1.6 Stealth Rev2 by Maximus|Garyopa and can also restore to original firmware.

This tool doesn't have any firmwares, but I made PPF files to convert any firmware to Xtreme 1.6/2.3 or original version.
This version shows any flashing errors and repeats the process to complete all process successfully.
The batch files use parameters and subroutines. It's more easy to update for next releases and avoids errors in script files.

Use Hack360Hitachi.exe file to run this program and select one option in the Main Menu.
Hack360 hitachi will automatically create a folder "Firm0X" to create all required firmwares.
To detect firmwares this program use Keygen (Verifier firmware), incase you get 'unknown firmware' use the alternative detection (Garyopa check) to identify hitachi model (32,36,40,46,47,58,59).

Basically he made ppf files which are patch files that can change your original firmware to xtreme 1.6/2.3 then you can flash the drive, that's all he is saying.

I guess I am dumb.. but what is the difference between this and opa's way?

I know opa's uses batch file and this uses ppf files but really what or why is this better?

scratch head. . . so does this auto flash a drive back to original and the flash to opa 2.3 in the same batch. That's kinda what I got. I dunno, don't think I'll be usin' this one. blink.gif

or is it kinda to mimic samsung way of making orig.bin into hack firmware to flash with..

use this ... it makes a file to flash... replace this "hacked patched firmware" with a file with opa's release..??

i dunno.

If that's your cup of tea...

I say "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."

The Batch files work just fine.  If you don't know how to use a command prompt and type in a batch file, you shouldn't be doing this in the first place.

It's hard to see what he's trying to accomplish.  I mean, there's no NEED for something like this.  I won't bother messing with ppf patches when I know the normal flashers work fine.
