using normal mode on XBOX1 type, it took 1 hour to get to 30%.... isnt that wrong?

Nope - but it can be improved on.

AFAIK a majority of XBOX1 DVD sectors that don't contain file system data are basically 'bad' sectors.  These take ages to read retry before the app determines it's bad and moves on.  XBOX1 DVD game disks are rarely full, so there's likely to be more 'bad' sectors than data sectors.  The Sector Mapping feature attempts to identify the data sectors directly, and only reads them.  This technique can take the disk backup time down from hours to minutes.  (Often a game may occupy as little as ~650MBs, meaning the remaining 8.5GBs of bad sectors need not be read!)

I've read rumors that some XBOX1 titles do have data stored outside the file system described areas.  This can be checked for by the game as additional security against backups.  I've not encountered one of these yet myself, but if you do, turning off the Sector Mapping and forcing a lengthy read of the whole disk will create working backups of these.

i just created the image after like 4 hours of it copying, (forza motorsport, xbox1 game) and i burnt it, and now when i insert it to play it comes up with a video of green xbox like an intro movie then says this is an xbox1 game please put it in an xbox1 console, or something like that, so it wont work.

ffs, i am pissed as i have made a few coasters now. what am i doing wrong????

edit: i just brnt the image.dvd that was created using clone cd after extracting the whole disc with schtrom360xtract3.1, i didnt add or merge any ss.bin or other bin files... i dont suppose you have to merge these as they are already done and put into the image during extracting right....??

if i am wrong and you have to merge the ss.bin and pfi.bin and other crap.... then can you tell me how to do it? i know how to extract them but how do i merge them.

You don't need to merge anything. All should work if you insert your disk, leave the settings and click on extract. Then burn with CloneCD and play.

Sometimes there are hardware issues why the extraction won't work. For me it worked without any probs, also on the SH-D162C and the TS-H943A with the newest Xtreme.

While it won't save a badly captured/corrupt DVD image!....ImgBurn is now the recommended tool to burn .DVD images.  This may simply be because it's free rather than any new ability, but it's worth trying.  Also, burn at the slowest burner speed - that sometimes helps (assuming the .DVD image is correct to start with).

In general, I always read and write at the slowest speeds - it just avoids all sorts of 'coaster' generating issues.

Yes I am using the Samsung TS-H943A to do my rips with Schtrom360extract 3.1...... is this wrong?

Ive made a few of my xbox360 games backed up fine... but that was using the legacy way of dvdinfopro, isobuster etc.

I only took this route to give this program a go because it seemed nice and easy but it was primarily because using the legacy way to rip the iso in isobuster it kept only giving me 2.00KB as the file size of the DVD.... i couldnt work out why.

Anyways I am going to try my last DL disc using imgburb soon.

- can you point me to some info about this rubber band mod? i have herd about it a little i thought its for people getting dvd tray open error or something, no?

Is there a tutorial on using ImgBurn to burn .dvd files with?  Do you need to specify layer break etc..?  Any specific settings?

Thanks!

Nope and nope.  smile.gif

No tut is really necessary as ImgBurn is so easy to use.  Simply use it to open the backup's *.DVD file and hit the burn icon.

The *.DVD data file already contains the layer break information.  happy.gif

OH Alright so it's not like DVDDecryptor where you need to input the layer break information into the program and then remove the layer break line from the .DVD file and save it?

ImgBurn is an evolution of DVDDecryptor, but I simply burn the *.ISO and *.DVD files that Schtrom360Xtract produces.  No more, no less.

I used DVD Decryptor tonight and it worked perfect.  May try IMGBurn over the weekend.  blink.gif

there is a tut on here on how to setup IMGBURN to burn properly, and yes you must enter the layerbreak in imgburn or it wont work. well that was the case for me.

I think I will just stick with DVDDecryptor as it worked perfectly well.  cool.gif
