using normal mode on XBOX1 type, it took 1 hour to get to 30%.... isnt that wrong?
Nope - but it can be improved on.
AFAIK a majority of XBOX1 DVD sectors that don't contain file system data are basically 'bad' sectors. These take ages to read retry before the app determines it's bad and moves on. XBOX1 DVD game disks are rarely full, so there's likely to be more 'bad' sectors than data sectors. The Sector Mapping feature attempts to identify the data sectors directly, and only reads them. This technique can take the disk backup time down from hours to minutes. (Often a game may occupy as little as ~650MBs, meaning the remaining 8.5GBs of bad sectors need not be read!)
I've read rumors that some XBOX1 titles
do have data stored outside the file system described areas. This can be checked for by the game as additional security against backups. I've not encountered one of these yet myself, but if you do, turning off the Sector Mapping and forcing a lengthy read of the whole disk will create working backups of these.
