On the size that is exaclty their respective size, so all OK.

On the missing 'mscomctl.ocx' , have you tried running the installer in the package (I believe it says xboxbackupcreatorV2.3.exe). Also since it is vista, there are a few post earlier in this thread on that , Hope it helps you

At this point you can do Single layer only for xbox1 game and if you have a Samsung X360 drive.
if you are interested you can look at this post on Single Layer with FW 5.2 , the   release post of FW 5.2 and the release post of XBEFIX.

discussion on that subject is focused there at this time.
hope it helps

Hi Redline hope you can help

I have successfully flashed my MS25 with xtreme 5.2c F/W and have come to try some backups. The drive is being detected in windows ok.

I'm using Xbox Backup Creator to read an original 360 game and keep getting this error:

'unable to determine the current visible partition'

Upon ok of this msg, it then just says 'read failed'

Also in the info pane at the bottom of the app, the bytes used is being reported in TB (4,398,046,511,104 bytes), not GB. All other posts I have read refer to this figure being in GB - is this part of my problem or just a bug?

So far I have tried backing up my originals of Tomb Raider Legend and GRAW to no avail.

Please do you have any suggestions as to what the problem is here?
Any help much appreciated. smile.gif

I'm getting the same 'unable to determine the current visible partition' error when trying to backup Gears of War. Bytes used is shown as 4.00 TB.

I have nero installed, img burn, dvd shrink, dvd decrypter, dvdfab decrypter, xbc, xtreme boot maker. Redline99, please help.

Update I installed all the programs, restarted, ran xbc and still got the same error message. Does Gears of War need a special backup method?

Yes I just updated to the latest VIA driver. Version - 5.40A to be exact, got it from here. I had to update because Windows wouldn't boot with the driver that came with my retail VT6421A raid card.

hmmm... the new VIA drivers seem to becoming more of an issue for people and my app. I'm not too sure as to why, the command to read the disk capacity is pretty straight forward.  MMC op-code 0x25 is the specific command I'm using.

ok so you think is a driver issue? Do you know a specific version that definitely works? maybe I can just roll back to an earlier version.  Anyone else has advice?

UPDATE: I turned out to be the VIA VT6421 driver that was causing all these problems. I rolled back from version 5.40A to 5.20A (downloaded from http://www.viaarena.com/Driver/VIA_RAID_V520A.zip) and was able to backup GoW using XBC.

Redline99, Thanks for pointing out the driver issue.
