HoRnEyDvL - Yes, matter of fact... smile.gif

Helena - USB1 prob wont work so good... as you can tell.

TheSmooth1 - make sure to boot the pc using the Enable0800 method for newer Xtreme firmwares

pb_05 - drive doesn't have to be the master, but ouy may have to move things around, depends on your configuration.  My app make stealth images by default, dont worry about it.  You dont need to make stealth images, but you should as an extra precaution.  You dont have to disconnect all the other drive to flash but, again you should as a extra precaution.

I have a question. I heard for your backups (since I am legitimately making copies of my own game) that the SS files and the PFI and DMI sectors are a good idea to backup and burn to the disk. I go to Drive Tools and save them to the same directory I rip the game. Then I burn the game by selecting the image with the program. Is it recording all of those files to it or do I have to do more?

DaddyLongLegs - you dont have to do anything if you select "complete backup" on the read tab.  then burn the resulting image. The program will do everything for you.

Hi,

I need help using this program. I understand how to rip the game from the disc however when burning using this wonderful program I dont know how and where to set the booktype for the Pioneer 110d to dvd-rom.

Can anyone help?

Update

Just to add I ripped a game with Schtrom360Xtract_V3.1 then burned with Xbox Backup Creator 2.3. When I place the game back into the drive and try to rip it I get this error "The disc seems to be unlocked in the mode with both partitions available. This mode is not currently supported".

This is what makes me believe Im doing this process wrong!

Don't worry because when burning to a Dual Layer DVD, almost all burners burn to DVD-ROM booktype. The 110d is one of them.

TheSmooth1 - Are you using the Enable0800.iso before you boot into windows? Have you tried a different sata controller?

I'm planning on using buying a PC drive and connecting it to my laptop via a USB 2.0 drive enclosure. If you all had to choose one, would you pick the IDE or SATA version of the Samsung drive? Does one perform any better than the other? Would one work better considering I will be connecting it to my laptop via an IDE/SATA to USB convertor? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Well I tried ImgBurn and it got to 27% then this happened:

Writing Image...
Waiting for buffers to recover...
Waiting for hard disk activity to reach threshold level...
Writing Image...
Waiting for buffers to recover...
Waiting for hard disk activity to reach threshold level...
Writing Image...
Waiting for buffers to recover...
Failed to read from file: DOA4.iso
Reason: The semaphore timeout period has expired.

The buffer kept running down to zero, and then it kept "waiting for buffers to recover" and "Waiting for hard disk activity to reach threshold level" . It did this continuely throughout the burn proccess. Could this be due to the fact that the ISO is on an external HDD via a USB1 connection? Is the transfer rate from the external HDD too slow?

And does anyone know what a semaphore timeout period is and why it could timeout?

Thanks for any help.

Hi, just thought I'd let everyone know that once I changed the external HDD to a internal via an IDE cable, it all went perfect. So I guess thats was my problem. I burned using ImgBurn, I haven't tried reburning with XBC again. I'll just stick with ImgBurn as I know it works. By the way my SH-D162 is set on Master and my Pioneer 111d on Slave incase anyone was wondering.

Excellent program for Ripping though Redline!!! I'll try burning another game with XBC if you want me to  smile.gif

Thanks for the great tool.  I have one question....
I searched for about an hour and can't find what I'm looking for so maybe I didn't word my search correctly.

But can you make a backup from a backup or does it have to be from the original.

My guess is you need the original but just wanting to get a correct answer.

Thanks

my app doesn't support reading from a backup.

remember once you have created a backup, it just become a normal dvd, nothing special. use any dvd copy program to go from there.  Not sure how the dvd copy programs handle the layer break, but I'm sure you can find out with a little work.

Thanks for the feedback....
Let me make sure I asked correctly....

Here is my issue:
I have an original Rainbow Six game
I made a backup of it.

The backup worked fine for awhile but has slight scratches so when I get farther into the game it gives Dirty Disc Error sometimes.  I suspect it is going to finally stop working one day.

I went back to the original to make another copy but it has a small crack near the middle of the disc.  I accidentally had some stuff piled on the Rainbow case with the disc inside.

I have attempted using both extract tools to make an .iso of the backup but it fails.

My H493A also has started disappearing from Windows for some reason.

I looked into various DVD tools to extract to .iso but no luck.

From your response do you mean that once the .iso is burned to the DL DVD that it is treated as a normal DVD disc?

Thanks
