About bitsetting... Some burner firmwares will automatically do it for you, and then fome hacked xbox firmware don't care what it is set to... so it may or may not matter, depends on your setup.  If you have a choice I would always try to set the disk book type to DVD-ROM, but again it may not matter depending on your setup.

Burning... At 2.4x 45 minutes is within normal ranges.

Making the ISO... If you select "Complete Backup" then you do not need to do anything the the iso image.

SPTI vs ASPI... Depends on your setup, I provide both to give the most flexibility. They should in most cases operate the same.

Redline99, or anyone else...

Iam extremely new to the back up of my games, i have 2 kids under 6 who love to use my discs as building blocks rather than there intended use... I have been looking, researching, search and anything else i can to understand how to backup my games...I have a Xbox1 at present, and envison obtaining its big brother in very near future... i've just purchased the Samsung SHD162c drive from ebay, it has been flashed using Kreons firmware update... but i'm having trouble with all the technical jargon and what to do, i know this is a pain, and the last thing you guys need is a rookie hanging around asking questions but i just need a step by step guide from inserting the disc into the Samsung drive and making a image or iso as i have learnt and doing all i have to do to make a backup disc ready to use. (Redline do you do a guide for 'Dummies' LOL.
I have used XBC to make a copy of my disc, well i have tried... i place the xbox1 disc in (V8 Supercars) and get to about 7% before i get something about the disc being dirty from this point on the process slows right down.. it took 3 hours the other night... after this i selected security selector, then i tired to use xtract360 to extract the iso, but it won't read it, or i'm missing the point or something??? i am really frustrated at this point, as i am still basically stuck on step one, i can't even get to attempting to make a coaster... if anyone can assist and point me in the direction of a user guide or similar it would be much appreciated..

thanks

*** Currently, the Hitachi GRD-3120L is not capable of viewing the game partition without
a hardcoded firmware patch. Hopefully someone will create proper support for unlocking.

it is that simple and convenient.  no need to dismantle the console and run enable0800 disc and then backup.  unless you got that special connectivity kit.  so we must thank kreon once again.....  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Hello, wonder if someone could help me with this please?

Ibought the Samsung Drive from Ebay, with the Kreon firmware etc etc, and I installed it and succesfully ripped my copy of Fight Night. So far so good.

I burned the Fight Night ISO using Clone CD, and put it into my 360 (Sammy drive flashed with latest firmware) and it booted up first go.

Now, this is the problem bit.  I had one fight on the game, and halfway through it, the screen froze in a pattern of red and grey lines!!!!  I had to switch my 360 off as it never responded to anything.  When I tried the game again after re-booting, it came up "This disc is unreadable!"  I then switched the 360 on and off, and it booted up.

My question's this; does anybody know what could've caused that problem?  I have the retail version of test drive, and I dowloaded a version from the net on Tuesday to see if backups work.  I have had no such problem with Test Drive, but Fight Night Freezes.  Could it be the way it's ripped???

Any ideas would be welcome.

Oh and also, how come you can't back up a backup with Xbox backup creator?????

Doing backup of your games in this section (again the read all you can in Back Up Faq at the top)

If these are your first steps in hacking firmware and doing backups, you can also look at the newbie section for most of the questions we all have when we begin (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) .
