How am I pirating?
I was'nt wearing an eyepatch and a parrot on my shoulder.
I did'nt download a darn thing, so it's not my problem.
Any intelligent answers would be appreciated.

You copied friends songs, but aren't a pirate.  So I guess if I copy games that I get from the rental store thats not pirating either?

That *was* the intelligent answer.

I don't see why, except given the short-sightedness of teenage youth, some people have no concept of piracy without downloading something.  Piracy has been taking place since long before 1996, junior.

Simply put, you took possesion of something you don't rightfully own.  In the case of intellectual property, it's called piracy.  In the case of a TV set, it's called being accessory to a felony.

Theft is theft is theft.
