Xtreme Boot Maker V0.3.2
« Reply #16 on: October 11, 2006, 01:49:00 AM »

it seems the download links are broken, I have tried the last few days to get it but it gets stuck at

http://www.x-project...oad.php?view.10

Can someone that has version 0.3.3 put it on another download link?

I have a Nforce4 Chipset with 4 Serial ata connections, a MS25 drive, I did not manage to flash the firmware with version 0.3.1, it gets stuck at samread with error code status 0 should be 70, or status 51 should be 70. (the xbox lamp is blinking green but does nothing else)

Should this latest verstion work 100% with nforce4 and ms25?

Raid is off in bios
All ide/sata channels are disabled in bios but not the 1st sata channel.
My xbox360 is connected to first sata connection.
I boot up to dos and then turn on my xbox360.

Something I am doing wrong here?

My mobo is an ASUS P5N32 SLI SE Deluxe.

All 0.3.3 does is alter the way it looks for info in msinfo32. if 0.3.2 is working for you, then 0.3.3 will not change it. Everything that goes on the disk is identical.

try leaving your ide enabled and have a dvd drive connected.

What you have to remember is that all this does is place the X360SAM package onto a floppy or USB drive for you and edit's MTKFlash is you need it to.
The actual specifics of the reading and flashing the drive are beyond my scope of knowledge.

I will put the update on the external mirror's just to be sure

If you try to use the new Xtreme V4.0, XBM will ask you to update your Firmware Definition's.

Xtreme V4.0a and V4.0b have now been added to the update file.

No this is in Application, Open either of the V4.0 Firmwares and XBM will ask you if you want to update.

I've read that the VIA VT8251 chipset (which I have), doesn't work when flashing Samsungs. However, I used your program, Xtreme Boot Maker, and from the drop-down box underneath SATA Chipset, if I select the first option, Standard Dual Channel PCI IDE Controller, it finds the values correctly (the rest gave an error saying incompatible).

Does that mean that it will work?...

Sorry, but no it does not mean it will work.
The SATA chipset you use still have to be controllable via MTKFlash.

Klutsh,

Thanks for your great program! Although I still had to manually do the address correction in mtkflash, everything worked for the fw 3.3 for my ms25 drive.

With the new 4.0 a and b, can I continue to use the same program in the exactly the same way?  Will all I need to do is to copy the 4.0a or b fw into the samsung directory and rename it to xtreme.bin?

Any help appreciated.

cheers

Yes, all you need to do is copy and rename the firmware.

What chipset do you have, I'd like to know why it needed to be manually edited.

Simply, Yes.

Klutsh,

I have a VIA 6421L chipset- which has 3 SATA ports and I need to use the one FURTHEST away from the external connector to work. But when I let XBM do the mtkflash editing, it does not do it correctly(wrong values put in for the i/o -2nd part of the 8 digits.). Its no big deal , as the hexediting is quite easy.

So the fact that I am using the 0.4b fw(meant for a ms28) on a ms25 drive is not an issue?
How do I burn the enable0800 iso? with clonecd ? with imgburn? any burner? what are the settings?

Looking at the readme, it might easier to take my orig.bin, go through the XSAM batch files, and mtkflash the v40b.bin . But do I need to use enable0800 iso everytime I play a game or only when I need to reflash it?

cheers

For your question relating to the use of v4.0. please post them in the v4.0 thread.

I am looking for a new way to detect and edit IO data.
