*DISCLAIMER: ANY USE OF THIS PROGRAM IS YOUR OWN RISK*

Xtreme Boot Maker is a simple program that will prepare a floppy or USB drive
for use with X360SAM.

- Auto-detects your SATA/RAID controller and hex-edits MTKFlash (if needed)
for your chipset.
- Formats your floppy/usb drive and copies all necessary files over.
- Uses X360SAM 0.4.
- MD5 checker when selecting your firmware lets you know your firmware is legit
- Updateable Firmware definitions.
- Renames the firmware you load to xtreme.bin, uses custom .bat files.
- Will work with all existing Xtreme fw's and future releases. (I Hope)
- Can be used with NTFS cd's, creates a folder on your hdd.

Fixed/Added:
------------
- Fixed: Formatting and creating bootable floppy's.
- Added: Extra Error routines.

This program contains no firmware or patches.

About your error handling:

1. Choose Target: A:
2. Have NO floppy in A:
3. Click "Prepare Drive"

..now you get a msg: "The device is not ready".

But THEN you click OK.. and you will receive a "All done...Ready to use" msg.

..guess you need to check on your error handling again. Great work with the app though!

Does the sata settings auto dettect only work on english versions of windows ?

Tried it here, and it fails both on my VIA 6421A and Nforce4 chipsett, i know both should work.
Since i have used the nforce4 for ms25 drives

The only one i can think of is Windows Management Instrumentation, XBM uses WMI for the initial device identification.

Could you post a sample of the info generated by MSInfo32?

And yes it will still show v0.3.2.0, I forgot to update the version information.

klutsh,

did you ever get around to finishing up that full tutorial? Reason I ask is because I understand it all in my head on how to do it...just want to be certain from the man himself!

I guess the main thing that confuses me right now (and hopefully the last thing), after I do "samread xxxxxxx xxxxx", do I power cycle? I watched Textbooks video and that is the reason I think yes, but in reading the NFO you released with all the versions, you mention nothing of a power cycle...I just want to make sure the power cycle isn't only for ppl who use the via sata card or whatever.

I will be connecting my drive right to the sata ports on my motherboard, so jusy wanted to clear this up.

Thanks again for all your hard work. I'm sorry to keep bothering you with all these questions, I just want to make sure I do it right before I make a brick.
