If you have a MS28 Drive you need the VCC or 10 Second Trick to get it to work.

10 Second Trick needs a VIA SATA card.
VCC need's soldering.

You do have MS25.

Have or do you need to edit MTKFlash for your SATA chipset?

I had a tough time flashing the MS25 also. We went to newegg.com bought the prefered SYBA SY-VIA-150R PCI SATA /IDE Combo RAID Controller Card RAID for $14.99 (the 9.99 one was out off stock). Flashed it the 520c Via drivers (I think). Then used the edited MTKFlash for the Via chip set with the  Samread v4. I had to edit the Samremod.edit and Samread.batch files and change the name from extreme v32 to v33. ( All i did was delete the 2 and change it to a three in both those files.) I did this because I wanted the newest firmware. Or you could just put in the 32 version and eliminate the changes. I tried this on my emachine (for hours and hours) but and couldn't get it to work. Then tried it on a dell pc and it worked just fine. i didn't even need to unplug the ide drives from the motherboard. Only the sata cable pluged into the back sata port on the card. (zero I think)  after this the drive showed up in the Mtkflash section. hope this helped biggrin.gif
