Xtreme Boot Maker V0.3.1
« on: October 05, 2006, 05:50:00 AM »

QUOTE
Xtreme Boot Maker is a simple program that will prepare a floppy or USB drive for use with X360SAM.

- Auto-detects your SATA/RAID controller and hex-edits MTKFlash (if needed) for your chipset.
- Formats your floppy/usb drive and copies all necessary files over.
- Uses X360SAM 0.4.
- MD5 checker when selecting your firmware lets you know your firmware is legit
- Updateable Firmware definitions.
- Renames the firmware you load to xtreme.bin, uses custom .bat files.
- Will work with all existing Xtreme fw's and future releases. (I Hope)
- Can be used with NTFS cd's, creates a folder on your hdd.

This program contains no firmware or patches.

I have used this program to prepare my floppy drive but I cant boot into dos. I get the message "remove disks or other media. Press any key to restart. I have tried several floppy disks with no joy. How do I work around this problem?

Klutsh, there's a \ slash missing when it tries to look for the .xml to update definitions. Try to load a unknown bios and update the definition, and you'll see the error.

As a temporay fix to this just format the floppy as normal but check the 'create an MS-DOS startup disk', and dont set XBM to format the drive.

I found it, thanks, will be fixed in next release. at present there are no xml updates anyhow. new release will have new xml included too.

Awesome.  No good for me as I use a custom-built PC for the job, but awesome nevertheless.  I'm sure Grim187 will be thanking you as well for the break he'll no doubt get from being plagued with MTKFlash questions, the auto-patching of it is a brilliant feature!

sounds interesting...

i just got my x360 like 2-3 days ago. and been reading over all the tutorials and stuff since then..

still confused about how to hook up the 360 to my onboard VIA VT8251.. friend said Serial ATA cable to IDE.. but then at the same time i've something about mktflash for ms28 not working for 'converter cable. (if by sata cable to ide = converter) i dunno if i'm clear.. but does anyone know wha ti'm talking about? lol

so main question; i found out i got Samsung MS28 FW... would that matter for this software or is this only for the ms25 peeps? since i gotta do the bad flash recovery method ... =/

(P.S can anyone help me on the cable connection part? it seems to be the only part i'm confused about.. rest i understand... :S like i dunno which cable to buy and which cable plugs where. i dont have any sata cable that i should have had when i bought my mobo)

It's not supported as you are informed, Your device only has 1 I/O range, MTKFlash needs info from the 1st and 3rd I/O range.

No, your chipset still needs the features as required by MTKFlash
