The reason 99% of people use the firmware hack is to play illegal copies.  Anyone TRULY thinking otherwise is an idiot.  Promoting the firmware hack at ALL is promoting piracy.

I personally think it's interesting to check the new ISO's that come out, see if they're region locked, etc.

Absolutely!! Here Here!! Atlast.....someone being honest!!

The really confusing part is where we find this marvelous new app lol. 8 pages of google almost solely dedicated to the news of this release on various sites around the globe and yet the app itself seems to be quite stealthy (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

SS is secure sector mate.  I'll tell you when I manage to locate the app and give it a run (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Personally I'm more interested in checking the stealth side of things (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

the nfo is confusing because what i set out to do with xdvd rebuilder it currently DOESNT do, because as far as i know noone has worked out how to do it.
However once the filesystem parsing code was in place it was trivial to add things like region checking, so i did, and released it with just that in mind.
SS checking isnt ENTIRELY accurate in that it only checks if the area is blanked or not. You would need to emulate the whole disc security system to check if its an actual working ss. But if you dont have an SS there that area should always be blank and so the checking should be accurate to the extent possible without a whole lot of work.

Hi, What I think I and others were more interested in was checking an iso image stored on a pc hd to see if it is stealth patched without having to keep attaching the 360 to the pc. Now that would be a handy tool for those who aren't scared to admit the real reason they hacked their drive in the first place (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)
