QUOTE(Redline99 @ Sep 18 2006, 02:08 PM) *

the stealth check on the video section is validating that there is real video there, not just a blank zero filled data.  Where did the video portion come from? My app?

If it came from my app when doing a "Complete Backup" was the game disk already unlocked?  If the game disk was unlock the the video section was not available to the app when making the image and it would have been filled with filler data.  When making a stealth compatible complete backup make sure the drive can see the video part.  My next update will issue a warning and ask to continue if the disk has already been unlocked.

yes i used your app to get the enitre image.  my process was turning on the 360, inserting 0800, booting pc, inserted 360 game and then ran your app.  under the read tab with complete backup checked i clicked start.  i see the button to unlock the drive under drive tools, however i didnt ever click it.  is the drive locked unless i click that button?  was the process i did correct?  thanks for the prompt reply redline, and thanks again in advance for your help.

dmurray - the drive by default is locked, so if you only loaded up my app and went straight to "Complete Backup" the you should get a valid video section and a stealth check pass.  If you put the backup into a Windows XP do you get prompted to play the video?

Hi Big Smokey,
Is there a specific reason you get seperately dmi, pfi, ss and reconstruct the image? you introduce one more step with this.

Why not simply do complete backup (everything including dmi, pfi,ss will already be in the file generated)
then burn with a good burner Liteon or Pioneer are good and good media (verbatim) and it should work.
rgds, soso

redline99 - i dont know what i did the first time to unlock the drive and not get a valid video section, but upon reading your reply i tried again and sure enough i got a valid video section and the stealth check passed.  when trying to burn the image with your app it locked up on me twice (1st @ 1.35% and again @ 52.8%).  knowing you claim it is most likely not compatable with all burners i tried burning with CloneCD (using the files i got from your app) and it worked the first time.  i successfully made my first backup last night, i couldnt be more satisfied!!  even if i have to always burn with cloneCD thats fine with me.  thanks again for the help redline.  you made one hell of an app.

yeah, the burning part of my app is ok, but not perfect.  I really have never build a DVD burning app before so Im not 100% on the process.  It works really well with my setup because I can debug the process easier.  Its seems to be real picky in 3 spots, the very beginning, at the layerbreak and then at the end.  I can't recreate any problems here, so I don't really know the issues too well.  There a lot of factors, your system, your drivers, your burner, your media, my app, and the burning gods.  smile.gif

okay - just flashed my drive with Kreon's v0.80 FW, tried ripping using both Schtrom2.1Xtract and Xbox Backup Creator, both hang and give the following errors at 3.5% when trying to do the Security Sectors:

I just installed ASPI drivers from Nero's website I'm going to try that when I reboot, but so far not looking so good for me.

okay, after a quick reboot and with the aspi.dll file in the same folder as Xbox Backup Creator, it is now working 50% and going strong, time to backup all my game discs now (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

***REDLINE**** maybe you can add the aspi.dll file in the package? and maybe add to the readme that if it doesnt work with i/oerrors and timeouts, do aspi instead

Make sure the Hitachi firmware is OPA version atleast v2  (need the f900 core) to do ss extraction.

(but the Hitachi doesn't support reading the game partition, so you are still out of luck there.)

The aspi is a fix for the DeviceIoControl error. I will do something eight distribure a free dll or put something in the readme, would be better to fix it though. smile.gif

good luck
